I am constant
when all else is a
whirlpool of hope’s defamation and
the lonely’s desperation.
At least,
this is the lie I tell
myself
in moments lost in the crowd
when individuality is wrung dry
and I know myself
nothing more than another
water lily
floating
in Monet’s pond.
