If mary was going to be ‘redeemed’ in any way… then what was the point in showing her threatening a vulnerable sherlock (twice) after she’d already shot and killed him. If they were going to pull this whole ‘oh but she’s sorry really, look how changed she is’ thing, there’s no reason for showing just how dark and how much of a psychopath she really is. They could have shown her to be apologetic, frightened, vulnerable… but she wasn’t. She was dark and cold and horrible to both of them. There’s just no logical way of redeeming her from that, from a narrative pov. It doesn’t make sense. Plus, the reason Sherlock pulled himself back from the brink of death was because John was in danger from ‘that wife’… that won’t just be ignored? like, oh we’re going to do this big emotional dramatic shot of sherlock clawing his way back to life to save John from his psychopath wife because ‘John Watson is definitely in danger!’ to then just… not mention it again? Also, let us never forget the ‘Mary is such a fucking psychopath!’ tweet, which I have framed and hung up on my wall. 

All true. Which is why today’s pics feel so off. But I suppose they are building up suspense a bit more before they twist the knife?
