Over a million copies of this book have been sold. I don't doubt that this boy had a spiritual experience, but what interests me is how it is filtered through his own upbringing. Jesus is blue-eyed rather than a brownish sort of fellow as he would have been back in the day. My question is where did Jesus get those eyes? Not from his semitic mom. Therefore from his Dad. The unspoken implication: obviously God is a white dude. And that bothers me.
