Funny story: 

So, of course I know that Benedict was doing some voice work for Shere Khan in The Jungle Book. Of course I know that. And I saw a trailer for The Jungle Book when I saw Star Wars, all three times. It seemed good. So my friend and went to see it last night, and the tiger was really great. But as hard as I listened, and as well as I know my Benedict can chameleon his voice, it just was not him. Oh no. It was Idris Elba, I discovered at the end - who, by the by, is of course a wonderful Shere Khan, himself! So I had myself a little google to find out if Ben had pulled out or something, but I thought, surely I would have heard! SURELY! 

Mais non. They’re doing two Jungle Books, and Ben’s is coming out in 2018. WTF, Hollywood. WTF. Why do we need two Jungle Book remakes within two years?! 

That said, this was a fantastic remake with a great cast - Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Scarlett Johanssen, Bill Murray, Lupita Nyong’o, Christopher Walken, etc. Good stuff. But I was very much looking forward to Benedict’s tiger-ing! Alas.
