How to say AFFECT and EFFECT

Mam, what would be the pronunciation of affect and effect?  Because various persons pronounce it the same..i can not understand this…please guide me.

EFFECT and AFFECT sound almost the same.  Most people say uh fect with an open and relaxed uh vowel.

AFFECT-uh fect and EFFECT-eh fect.
