You know as much as I find editing a pain in the ass (seriously, by the time it gets to the nitpick at grammar stage, I am so *done* with the story that I just want to go back to whatever I'm currently working on) it's also kind of cool, because by this point it's been *months* since I last looked at whatever story it is, and I'm like..."I wrote this? Awesome."

It's like I'm reading it for the first time! Well, almost.

I have both those exact same feelings. Sometimes, I can't bear to open a novel to edit. My eyes won't stay on the screen, I'm just so sick of it and it reads so blah, but distance lends enchantment and six months later I'll look at it and think, hey, it's not that bad. Go me.
