Day 69 of 90: Circadian Rhythm #ASMSG #IARTG #IAN1 #SupportIndieAuthors

I get a lot of work done late at night, or early in the morning while most people are asleep.

I believe it’s a combination of factors that makes this true. It isn’t just the lack of people awake enough to interrupt me, it’s the nature of our tired brains as well.

That’s why I choose to be an early riser. It affords me peaceful moments to better craft stories and ideas. A few minutes spent writing, hoping my eyes stay open wide enough to finish.

Some of my greatest ideas come when I’m tired. When my eyes droop ever lower, and I struggle to keep my head from my desk.

I do advocate getting six to eight hours of sleep a night, you need rest in order for your brain to work at peak efficiency. But don’t be afraid to work on a project because it’s too early, or too late. Be willing to work that little bit extra, because you never know what is going to come from your hard work.

I know my own circadian rhythm is all out of whack, from years working nights at a hospital, that’s why I’m not giving specific hours. You need to find what works best for you, as an individual. And remember, too much sleep is just as bad, if not worse, than not getting enough. Stay savvy!
