Listen to The Self-Titled Album From Al Jourgensen's New Project, Surgical Meth Machine: Exclusive:
urchicago:
If you caught the first or second official video from Al Jourgensen of Ministry’s new project with the sweet name (Surgical Meth Machine), then you know that their first album is shaping up to be an expansive and awesome work from the stale Ministry brand -
Tragic alert was harsher, louder, faster, and industrial metal, a predictable direction - But the second: I’m Invisible is a slow intelligent creep-ballad that broods impressively, like Mike Patton on Mr Bungle’s Sweet Charity. This points towards a Puscifer-like concept for Surgical Meth Machine, an artist’s dream world of experimentation, and probably a re-visiting of Jourgensen’s self-shunned early years - which I love as much as any of his work, but Jourgensen treats as his “Creep” or “teen spirit” and has all but disavowed them from cannon.
Ranting aside, as I checked to see that my SMM vinyl is arriving tomorrow, I notice that it is OUT NOW STREAMING FOR FREE via BILBOARD. So dissolve you curiousity and stream this shit now! Easily one of the events of the year as far as metal is concerned.
