Marghita is feeling bitter at Rick’s sudden enthusiasm for Christine; she thinks he is suffering a lust reaction, thinking with his dick, as some of her friends would say. She feels that maybe if she can see what makes Christine so great, then she can act like that, and project it out to Rick. Marghita wants to get inside Christine’s head. She wants to know everything about her; she needs to get closer to her.

She knows her name because Rick let it slip during the course of one of their conversations; Christine Sinclair. She is in her forties, married with two teenage daughters, and lives in Aberdeen. Her Word Crozzle name is Aqua eyes. She knows Christine has been playing Crozzle for a while. Rick told her that two men have fallen in love with Christine, partners from Crozzle play. She has looked at the thumbnail picture and knows what Christine looks like. She has the most amazing eyes. She did not think her beautiful, but reluctantly had to admit that those eyes made her stunning. Marghita wonders how to find out more about Christine, to understand her rival, so she can neutralise her. She cannot ask Rick too much, as he might wonder at her interest. Marghita will have to find another way.

Ah, she remembers she has her email address, because Rick sent an email joke to several of his friends including herself, and that included all the other addresses; that might be useful to her although she is not sure yet. Maybe Facebook would be a good place to start.

Marghita logs into Facebook. It is not something she uses much.

She types Christine Sinclair into the search for friend’s box, and presses go. Twelve Christine Sinclairs’ are displayed on her screen; she scrolls down the list scanning the thumbnail pictures. She finds her, and clicks on that name, the details appear on the screen. Marghita’s heart races, she feels it thumping in her chest, she is almost panting as she leans forward scanning the screen. She grins thinking stupid cow, she has hidden nothing, and her whole life displayed before me. Avidly she consumes the open book of Christine’s life, her friendships, her posts, her family, dozens of pictures. What a feast. She has the sour taste of jealousy metallic on her tongue; Christine appears to have a good life, why does she need Rick as well?

Marghita grabs a piece of paper and writes down the salient points, husband’s name Ed, daughters Sophie and Haley. Her work place. The names of her main friends, the groups to which she belongs. She will peruse those at her leisure and search for more information about Christine. She starts to compile a Christine dossier. She opens Crozzle on her phone, searches for Aqua eyes, when the thumbnail appears; Marghita does a screenshot of the photograph and emails it to herself. She goes to her computer opens her emails and prints the screen shot twice. One copy she adds to her dossier, the other she cuts out, laminates and pops in her handbag.

She sits and rubs her hands now; she is beginning to get inside the psyche of Christine Sinclair. Hopefully this will help. In her quest for a long-term relationship with Rick.

She ponders how to use her newfound knowledge and what to do next. Maybe she really needs to see Christine, look at her home, and maybe even talk to her. Although having a conversation seems a remote possibility, dialogue with Christine would be useful, she wonders if she could set up another Crozzle account and play Christine, become her friend talk to her regularly. She will explore that as a possibility.

Visiting Christine is becoming an obsession with Marghita. She feels she just has to make it happen. It is invading her thoughts day and night, and she wakes up with a strong compulsion to visit Aberdeen. In the end, she finds a day when she can make herself free, and books a return flight Stockholm to Aberdeen, a Tuesday when Christine goes to works late. Since her decision to see Christine, Marghita has tried to find out snippets of information about her. Pumping Rick gently, asking questions and adding to her file.
