Author Aldrea Alien

Author Aldrea Alien

Meet Aldrea Alien. She’s a New Zealand author of romantic speculative fiction of varying heat levels.

She grew up on a small farm out the back blocks of a place known as Wainuiomata alongside a menagerie of animals, who are all convinced they’re just as human as the next person (especially the cats). She spent a great deal of her childhood riding horses, whilst the rest of her time was consumed with reading every fantasy book she could get her hands on and concocting ideas about a little planet known as Thardrandia. This would prove to be the start of The Rogue King Saga as, come her twelfth year, she discovered there was a book inside her.

Aldrea now lives in Upper Hutt, on yet another small farm with a less hectic, but still egotistical, group of animals (cats will be cats). She became a published author in 2013 with Dark One’s Mistress and self-published the first of The Rogue King Saga in 2014. One thing she hasn’t yet found is an off switch to give her an ounce of peace from the characters plaguing her mind, a list that grows bigger every year with all of them clamoring for her to tell their story first. It’s a lot of people for one head.

The Rogue King by Aldrea AlienAbout The Rogue King:

Outside is dangerous.

Such is the warning Koral has heard for twelve years. Born a product of genetic manipulation, he knows little else of the world beyond the steel walls of his home.

When fate gives him the choice between certain death and the unknown, there’s no question in what he must choose. But he’s about to find out the sands he must brave are full of more than mere monsters.

Providing the desert doesn’t kill him first.

This is a world ruled by instinct, where innocence is drowned in blood. Here, men are offered up to the great Serpent God, Lorric, only to emerge as the most feared killers on the planet: The Rogues.

With the god’s sights set on turning Koral into a legend, he must sacrifice himself to survive and be reborn as… The Rogue King.

Learn about Koral, The Rogue King.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where do you come from, your race, your homeland. Your heritage.

It’s rather strange, having to introduce myself when most back home at least know of me. I was born with the name Koral, but most know me as Vengeance, the Rogue King. I hail from a large desert in the Zan Continent, which is the largest landmass of Thardrandia. I’ve been there all my life, all thirty years of it, that’s twice as many as your years. It’s a big planet.

I’m not human, despite being raised by one. Just what I am is a bit muddied. I’ve several species in my genetics, one of which no healer can place. Maybe one day I might find out the truth, but I’m not optimistic about it.

Tell us about your parents.

I really wish I could. I’m not even certain I have a genetic mother and father. There is the woman who gave birth to me, she’s as close to a parent as I’ve ever known. I don’t recall much. Flashes, mostly. Warmth, of being tucked in at night, of her smile… She’s been dead for a long time now.
What would you say is your greatest fear?

Becoming the monster everyone thinks I am. I try so hard, but it’s easy to forget even your own morals when few others have them.
Tell me about your nemesis.

Lorric? I’m surprised the All Mother allows him to continue existing, but I suppose he serves some purposes like the other Serpent Gods. Still, I will find a way to defeat him. If a mere mortal can take down the devil, then there must be a way to kill a god.
Tell us about your greatest desire.

To be free, to not have to think how my next move could have Lorric breathing down my neck and destroying everyone I care about.
Describe your ideal partner/mate.

She’d have to be smart, inquisitive and, above all, accepting of what I’ve become. Not that I’d blame a woman who chooses to distrust my word, this reputation is a hard one to shake. But if someone could see through it and realise it’s not who I am, then I’d do anything for her.
Here’s the million dollar question… How do you feel about your author?*Growl* All the torture she put me through, all the wrecked lives, better be worth it.
