55 West 17th is a building that takes classic details and fuses them with modern functionality. The influence of the Ladies Mile Historic District is immediately apparent in the building’s architecture. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, the building’s contrast and texture made it an ideal addition to the Flatiron neighborhood that surrounds it. Handmade Danish white brick was used to craft the building’s elegant facade. Its cornice, window frames and entrance detailing were all made from bronze architectural metal.
