Say Hello To Dr Venkatesh

Though he appears in a cameo in the book, Dr. Venkatesh is one of my favourite characters from Ranga Half-Pants.

Dr. Venkatesh was a very task-oriented, disciplined man. Given he had one foot in medicine and the other in farming, there was a synesthetic overlap when he performed his duties as a doctor. When he administered injections, he cajoled wailing children just like he managed his cattle: by chanting, in his trademark baritone, “Ho Ho Ho. Trrr Trrr!”
