Get an Early Night So You Can Get Up Early and Write!

I’ve been curating and collecting all these productivity tips and tools remote workers can use, but sometimes it just comes down to reminding yourself to get shit done.

One of my favourite quotes on this point is “Discipline is Remembering What You Want” — David Campbell. It perfectly sums up the disconnect we often have between what we want for our future and what we want right now.

Some of you may recall I like to rely on mental hooks to remind me to do daily chores and the like, and this led me to coming up with a little mantra to keep me on track with my freelance writing goals.

I must admit, I don’t always stick to this plan, and my plans are sometimes thwarted by little kids who get up early as well. But it’s a great ideal nonetheless, and I thought I’d share it with you all.

I know you’re not all writers, but even non-writers in business usually need to write copy for their own websites, client emails and more. Keep it in mind.

Do you have any little mantras you use to motivate yourself? I’d love to hear them!
