Getting Back in the Swing of Things w/the #8Sunday Weekend Writing Warriors
Hi friends, I’m back. My daughter’s quinceanera is over and I am living stress free for a while and enjoying it! I missed you all and I can’t wait to get back in the swing of things.
Anyhow, now it’s time for WEEKEND WRITING WARRIORS!
Wondering who we are? We are a fabulous group of individuals that posts 8-10 sentences on their blogs from a published or unpublished book. Then we “hop” around and leave comments on each other’s snippets. We welcome EVERYONE’s comments.~
I’m beginning to work on Esperanza again, let me know what you think.

I walked into Tylen’s high school reunion with him hand and hand, but I was positive that everyone would become aware of the tension between us. We stopped by the bar and he bought us both drinks, but before he could set his down on the table, one of his best friend’s wife’s grabbed his hand and dragged him out to the dance floor. As he pulled away from me, he asked if it was okay and handed me his drink without waiting for a response, leaving me helplessly nodding my head and shrugging my shoulders as if I was fine with it. I set both of our drinks down on the table and took off my jacket, carefully positioning it on the tall bar stool and then climbing up to take a seat.
Before long, one of Tylen’s friends Terry came over to keep me company and tried his best to entertain me, however in spite of his kindness I couldn’t help but feel awkward. I didn’t know a soul at the reunion besides Terry and after Tylen had danced five dances with his friends wife, I couldn’t help but feel that enough was enough. Perhaps this was my punishment for not being honest with Tylen, maybe after a few drinks I’d have the courage to reveal the truth to him. I zoned out from my conversation with Terry as I began to imagine how Tylen would react the moment I told him that Adriana was actually my daughter.
