Gay Talese writes a page a day, first draft in longhand

The Paris Review recently interviewed Gay Talese about his non-fiction writing, and the article is fascinating and sometimes entertaining ("Usually I wake up in bed with my wife").

Some info:

- Talese always does his first draft in longhand, and then he uses a typewriter. Why no computer in early drafts? "I want to be forced to work slowly because I don't want to get too much on paper."

- He writes about a page a day.

- After he finishes typing and retyping, he finally puts it into the computer. "On
