Up Late Last Night
Since deciding to go ahead and finish Book Three in the Talon (grim reaper) series I burned the midnight oil last night, writing until nearly 1:30AM before staggering off to bed and crashing until 9:30Am this morning (with Revere). I had some stuff to accomplish with John today- a run to Dave's for cat food and cat litter and then a trip to Deerfield to the candy shop there to get some candy for Kelly for Easter, and some of their awesome butterscotch buttons for the jar on the kitchen table where she and I work a lot. Revere got to go out briefly to enjoy the beautiful weather (snow is supposed to be coming on Monday!) We hiked around the back yard picking up sticks, chasing acorns and in his case, eating some grass (I passed on that). Then John joining us scared him and he bolted back to the house, going under the deck and then between the house and fence into the front yard. So John had to hike around the house to grab him before he ran into the road (he is for the most part an indoor cat with brief supervised outdoor privileges). Since bringing him indoors I've been working on the book, and as usual, having no idea in mind when I sat down to move forward with it, it has led me to some interesting places. And now, it is Dr. Giles Talon and Bryce Briscoe's wedding day at last- I think this will be written in two chapters-14 & 15 and then they are off to Paris, the Bordeaux region and then Italy where they may encounter old world demons during their honeymoon...don't know how this one will end. As always, it will be a surprise even to me! (I think I put the character in character driven fiction because they drive the story, not me!)

Here I will write a little bit about my writing, how I write, how I create characters and environments...and maybe some little glimpses into my real life because writers and authors are real people after all. I'll also write about my books, my upcoming books and my projects that are in the works. I am a self publishing author, so I do everything by myself from write the book, to write all the copy inside the book, to designing a cover and basically promoting the book- it's a much bigger job than I thought it would be, but I love writing and sharing my work with others and after sending four or five years trying to go the traditional route, this was the avenue that I chose to get my writing out there.
