Rainbow Snippets – March 19th 2016

Another week has gone by, and here we are again with my latest Rainbow Snippet. For those of you who don’t know,  Rainbow Snippets is a Facebook group where you share six sentences of a work that has LGBT related content. If you want to check out this great community for yourselves, be sure to check them out here.

This week’s Rainbow Snippet is from the work in progress sequel to Blitzen’s Gift, which focuses on another character in the herd. It is named Comet’s Wish, and focuses on Comet Krin, the beta of the Snowflake Herd of reindeer shifters who decides to leave his home to reconnect with an old friend. Along the way, he mets his mate in the form of Kegan Edwards, a young human fisherman, and Aquarius Swiftyde, who you may remember from the first Rainbow Snippet.

In this sample, Comet is standing on the pier of Coral Cove, a small seaside community on the south coast of England.

As Comet looked down at the surface of the ocean, he longed to take a running jump into it’s crystalline depths. He had always been odd, but no deer he had ever heard about had such a love for water as he did. Back when they had been regular animals, he would have spent hours lounging in the large lake beside the mountain range, gliding alongside the fish and dreaming of joining them in their underwater world.

Comet had always convinced himself that his love wasn’t something to be treasured, because he had never seen anyone else enjoy his guilty pleasure. Maybe that was why he had felt the need to leave after Blitzen and Ryan completed their mate bond. Perhaps he had been given a second chance, in order to rediscover the longings that had swirled around his mind like a violent snowstorm.

Once again, I would like to thank every member of the group who has offered me kind words so far. Your support and friendship mean the world to me. I hope you enjoyed everyone enjoyed this little snippet, and are looking forward to another brief glimpse as well as the final release.
