Ramblings..

Kurt survived the weekend. It's a good thing I'm such an easy going kind of girl, or he would be pushing the daisies right now. It's also a good thing we don't have daisies, giving nowhere to put him.

Happiness Hills is edited and I am going over it one last time (I hope) and trying to find a publisher. I think this has to be the hardest part of the entire process. Editing, cutting my baby to pieces, and then finding someone else who agrees my offspring is beautiful. The writing part, definitely

Karen Yes the cutting shredding and tweeking and almost makes me want to go mow a lawn LOL--I have editors who have been kind so far.

Renee The problem is that i can't pay anyone to do it, so I must learn to do it myself. I have a wonderful friend who helped immensely on one manuscript, but I can hardly expect him to continue to do it for free. I dream of the day when I'm making enough to pass it to someone else. I'm sure I'll still be in there like a dirty shirt.

Karen My friend Irma who lives in saskatchewan is the other way she refuses payment of any kind. As long as I give her credit for it and if she has the time. Just wants to keep her brain fresh. Met her playing solitaire online would you believe it.

Renee I find you meet people in the strangest places, and you are meant to meet them. My friend would likely continue to edit, but I know he has tons of other balls in the air, I want him to take care of his stuff as well. It's all right. i'm learning so much by doing this, it's better to fix something a thousand times yourself, then you won't make the mistake after that. I hope not anyway.

Karen they make suggestions on hwo something might be worded better but they don't mess with the basic content. I can't find missing quote marks but Irma can. Jeremy sort of bats clean-up. He finds stuff that Irma missed. I sent Irma a present for her hard work and she bawled me out. LOL Don't mess with a teacher

Renee Yes, the extra pair of eyes is handy. i have a few readers who are great at doing stuff like that. A couple can spot a hole in the plot even if it's tinier than a pin, that's priceless.
