Paix and Guy out hunting for food from Brace For Impact #FridaySnippets #romance #boxset

This months snippets are from the fabulous box set- Crashing into Love and my story- Braced for Impact.

A distant rumble overshadowed the crash of the waves. Paix looked up. "Thunder?"Guy nodded. "We'd better hurry. And I'll see if I can find a spot where we can hide when this thing hits. Okay? Follow me." He followed a similar path to the one he'd tried yesterday. When they came to the coconut palm, they collected four and stuffed them into his backpack. He stopped every thirty minutes and checked his cell. No signal. Luckily his battery was still good. The foliage changed from small bushes and palm trees to a few taller trees. "Look." She grabbed his arm. "Way up there. Is that fruit?"He shrugged and pushed through the brush to the tree. On the ground were long green fruits, plump at one end, slender at the other. He picked one up, sniffed then pulled the sharp glass out of his backpack. He sliced the edge. The glass slid through. Separating the two halves he chuckled. "La papaye and I'm sorry, but I don't know the English word.""Papaya. I think that's what that is."He handed her a half then scooped out the seeds, lifting it to his mouth, he bit a chunk of the orange flesh. "Mmm. This is good." Juice ran down his arm. He licked it off."Can I have the piece of glass? I want to slice this a bit smaller." Paix divided her piece then munched on the orange fruit. When Guy had finished his half, he carved up a second one, which they ate. Refreshed and happy they had another thing to eat, they collected several and stored them in her suitcase."I'd like to go a bit further and see if I can get some cell reception. This mountain we're on the side of might be blocking the signal. Twenty minutes that way and then we turn around and go back.""Okay." She used the end of her blouse to wipe sweat off her brow. "It's a good thing that breeze is there. Or it'd be—"Guy faced forward, but reached back and placed his fingers on her lips. He tilted his head. There was a new sound.

What people are saying about Crashing Into Love – box set

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow I love this box set
I've read books by two of these authors and loved them so I had to get this set. It didn't disappoint. I got this book mostly for Brenda's and D'Ann's books but the rest of the novellas were pleasantly surprising will get books by the other authors Brenda Dyers Love Comes Crashing In I loved the way the characters were best friends and end up together sometimes your best friend is the one you belong with. D'ann Lindun's Falling Hard I love Cowboys enough said but Gage and Teagan were a great opposites attract storyline
Daryl Devore's book was fantastic also it was probably one of my favorites of the set. I was crying at the end thinking the worst but it turned out great.
