In love with your characters

If you love your character, is that good? I can see two totally different sides to that questions. For me, if I'm in love with my characters, I can try and transfer that love to my readers. However, being in love with my characters, is different from loving my characters. Being in love with them, is like having a first love. All you can think about and talk about is the one you love and people around you get sick of hearing it. So that might cause me to overwrite them. I might want the reader...
