Okay, so, recently someone recommended Six of Crows...

I wanted Kaz to look kind of like a crow (for obvious reasons), so his hair is meant to look a bit like rumpled feathers. I'm gonna try a top hat next time. @v@

Still need to see if the side of his bad leg is confirmed anywhere. Still haven't tried drawing that crow-headed cane. Studies for eyes, physique, hands.

Of course Inej is a lot sleeker and less pointy than Kaz, which feels appropriate to me for a lot of reasons. I love her and I love drawing her. Expect more ninja poses in future!

Finally got to draw a couple bits from the book! If you can't read 'em, the speech bubbles read: "Say you're sorry." and "I literally don't know how." (the second one is not a direct quote)

More Inej, more ninja poses--and I wanted to play with some expressions. :>

Nina looks a bit much like one of my own OCs for comfort. I'll have to see about that. I like Matthias's face but it turned out pretty hard to duplicate so just...don't look too hard at the last one

Okay, so, recently someone recommended Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo to me (and yes I do have plans to read the Grisha trilogy as well), and last night I finally found the time to compile some notes on everyone’s appearance and do a little sketching!  It’s not everyone, but y’all can expect more soon enough.

Uuuhhh, what else…  I was too hype to draw everyone’s faces to do any research on what kind of clothes exactly they might be wearing (see: Kaz’s tie and bowler hat, which together make him look like an American gangster in the 20s), so these aren’t final designs for me.  And I imagined Inej as extra-super-small and Kaz as having one thousand years of darkness carved into his face, so I’m still struggling with getting them to look their age, haha…  @v@ Not 100% on Nina and Matthias either, but I do love them.

More notes in full-view!  Highly-recommended literature!

So much to love here. Determined Inej! Grumpy Matthias!
