Acedia opens with the quote "Time forks perpetually into countless futures. In one of them I am your enemy". You attribute the phrase to Mary Shelley, but I think it might be from Borges' short story The Garden of Forking Paths.

the borges quote was used first in the V3: AVARITIA collection but because of some production sort of fuck up nobody caught, the quote didn’t get changed but the attribution did, and the attribution was for what SHOULD have been in place of the Borges:

“I have love in me the likes of which you can scarcely imagine and rage the likes of which you would not believe. If I cannot satisfy the one, I will indulge the other.”
