Murad Employees Learn How to Save Lives
Recently, we held a CPR training course at Murad headquarters. Way to go to our 35 employees who got certified! They now know how to step up and save a life in an emergency.
Each year, more than 300,000 people in the U.S. die of sudden cardiac arrest. February is National Heart Month, and the American Red Cross is urging everyone to learn CPR. Cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death, and immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can literally mean the difference between life and death for a victim.
With training in CPR, more people are prepared to intervene and take action until medical professionals arrive during an emergency. Our in-house, intensive training included adult and pediatric first aid, CPR, and automated external defibrillator (AED) training. Murad employees received a 2-year certification upon completion.
Employees were trained in responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illness. Additionally, the first aid course trained everyone to identify and respond to common sudden illnesses, such as fainting, seizures, strokes, allergic reactions, poisoning and diabetic emergencies.
If you’re still not convinced you need to take a CPR course, here’s a troubling fact that may change your mind: About 80% of cardiac arrests happen at home near family members who often don’t know CPR. Murad employees who participated said the course was educational and empowering. And, as a bonus, taking the class in the workplace unified the team and built stronger relationships.
Everyone should take the time to get CPR certified. It could be the difference between life and death for a loved one. For more information on CPR training, check out the American Red Cross website.
