He sloshed into the ocean, splashing some on his face, waking himself up. Something moved across the surface and disappeared. Guy froze. His heart pounded. His gaze scanned the water. Nothing. Just his imagination. He dove in and surfaced, shook the water off his face and swung his arm around to a front crawl. He'd move forward a few yards and the next wave would push him back. He fought the ocean and gained some distance from shore, but it was hard going. His heart pounded and his upper back and shoulder muscles complained. He floated for a moment to catch his breath.A movement at the corner of his eye put every nerve on high alert. He rode up the wave's swell and hissed. A fin. Any hope in hell that's a dolphin? Merde. How do I get back to shore and not catch his attention? Guy flipped to his back and kicked his feet, while trying to keep a visual on the fin, praying it hadn’t detected him.A large wave moved closer, Guy rolled over and body surfed it closer to shore. The next wave dropped him on the edge of the reef. The sharp coral dug into his hurt side. Tabernac!If blood dripped into the ocean he was in big trouble. Hungry sharks in the middle of feeding frenzy don't care what or who is for dinner. Guy bolted to shore, driving his arms and legs. When he hit sand, he dragged himself out and charged up to higher ground. He collapsed on the beach and stared at the water. A fin surfaced, turned and headed away from shore and back to the wreck.Guy's stomach heaved. Foutre.

I've read books by two of these authors and loved them so I had to get this set. It didn't disappoint. I got this book mostly for Brenda's and D'Ann's books but the rest of the novellas were pleasantly surprising will get books by the other authors Brenda Dyers Love Comes Crashing In I loved the way the characters were best friends and end up together sometimes your best friend is the one you belong with. D'ann Lindun's Falling Hard I love Cowboys enough said but Gage and Teagan were a great opposites attract storyline
Daryl Devore's book was fantastic also it was probably one of my favorites of the set. I was crying at the end thinking the worst but it turned out great.
