Warbeast – The Sound of Music
Here you can find details of the music playlist I used to write Warbeast.
Like all of my Black Library writing, Warbeast is action-focussed and you’ll see the core of most of my Black Library-related playlists here – heavy percussion, strident orchestral themes. I also wanted something that put me in mind more of individual heroes than clashing armies – the Stormhosts of the Celestial Vindicators and Knights Excelsior feature en masse, but the real story is with their Lords-Celestant Arkas Warbeast and Theuderis Silverblade. For that I went with the likes of the 300 and Pacific Rim soundtracks, some thumping instrumental Wagner and downloaded a couple of outright theme and mood albums such as the Cataclysm collections. To stir more of a cosmic vibe on occasion you can’t beat Holst’s Planets suite, ably supplemented by Vangelis and some Audiomachine compilations.
