What do I read when I’m writing?

Nothing? Sometimes – when I’m swimming deep in character development – so I don’t inadvertently change the river’s course.

Same genre? Never – if I need a break – I vacation in other writing styles.

I borrow a suitcase, assume a new identity, and embark on an adventure or solve a mystery in a different time, place, or reality.

Upon completion, I repack all of the items (after cleaning, of course) and return the loaned luggage with gratitude.

Refreshed and baggage-free, I welcome the reunion with my characters and together we continue on our journey.
