Gail getting to write Batgirl with actual joy is nice. The sassmastery here is great.

It was really fun to write a Barbara again, and I did really enjoy the younger, less angtsy vibe. It was super-nice of the creative team to let me borrow her.

But it also felt very strange, it’s such a different character than any version of Barbara I am familiar with. I think she’s great and an important new take, but it was a bit of dissonance, like when you meet someone you know very well’s identical twin and they have completely different personalities. 

It was a weird feeling, but fun. I tried to be respectful to the new canon version, I really like the creative team. Again, they didn’t have to let me borrow her, but they were great about it!
