Arya Basu was born in Kolkata (then Calcutta) India in 1978. After spending twenty nine years of his life in and around Kolkata, Arya moved to United states with his wife and elder son. His younger son was born while in United States.

Arya still works as a software professional by the day, writes fiction on India in general (and Kolkata in particular) at night, goes through the trouble of renewing his visa every year, and serves as a doting father of two keep-parents-on-their-toes kids at all other time.
