CYBERBULLYING & Trisha Prabhu ~ A truly DaKine, Amazing Teen that is doing the right thing!

How one teen’s app stops cyberbullying before it starts
Social media is filled with rumours and offensive messages that stalk students from school to home – here’s one young woman’s solution

Cyberbullying is a huge issue for young people. A UK study last year of more than 10,000 people aged 12 to 20 found 70% of respondents admitted to being abusive to someone else online.

Cyberbullying is particularly pernicious, because unlike traditional face-to-face bullying at school that can be left behind after the final bell, online harassment that lives and spreads on social media sites follows you wherever you go.
But one young coder has created a “by kids, for kids” solution to the problem.
Trisha Prabhu came up with an app that aims to eradicate bullying messages before they’re sent, which she says has reached millions of students around the world already.

Felix Finkbeiner, 19, has already planted 15 billion saplings.  Alongside setting up Change Chocolate, a successful fair-trade chocolate company to raise money, the tall, spectacled teenager has joined with three of the world’s biggest conservation charities to launch the most ambitious reforestation project in history. While adults talk about addressing climate change, Finkbeiner says, young people act. “Children could plant 1 million trees in every country on earth and offset CO2 emissions all on their own, while adults are still talking about doing it,” he says.
