Fire's Field Cover Reveal
Fire's Field, Elementals Series Book #2Bound by a dark enchantment,
only an elemental flame can light the way.
Vengeance
Forged in rage and sorrow, a dark witch’s spell travels down her ancestral line to Violet Levina. Enchanted with the power of the entire Electromagnetic spectrum—microwaves, gamma rays, radio waves, Violet is cursed with limitless energy and the obligation to destroy an insidious creature composed of dark matter.
Justice
For over five hundred years, Flint has served as Fire, aiding Earth’s environment and its people as one of four Elementals. Yet only once in his long existence has he been burned. A flaming redhead ignites the embers of his heart, but he finds her resistant to the heat building between them.
Illumination
Knowing she must fulfill her destiny, Violet travels to her ancestral home in Ireland, accompanied by the fiery Elemental. Not fooled by his charms and brazen demeanor, Violet wishes only to shield him from the coming battle, but can’t deny the flames of desire flickering when she is at his side.
Love
While standing together against unrelenting adversaries, false friends, family betrayals, and an underlying seed of darkness, they must burn bright or the ruthless power behind the ancient spell will turn everything to ash.
With Flint as her beacon in a field of darkness, Violet will discover that love holds the most powerful magic of all.

Fire’s Field Excerpt:
With each stroke of his tongue in her sweet mouth, Flint freed his white-hot nature.
She joined in the heated molding of their lips. Needy gasps escaped from her mouth. Her hands unclenched and clenched his striped, dress shirt, before she broke away. “This will…I can’t…this will ruin everything. The prophecy states—”
“I thought you were a scientist.” He seared kisses along the curve of her neck and shoulder.
Violet bit her plumped lower lip. “I am, but you see—”
“Why would you believe in something as scientifically unsupported as a prophecy?”
“Because I come from a line of witches.”
He nudged her with his hips. “Would you like to see—”
“Don’t you dare say it.” Violet glared before bracing two fingers against his lips.
“Say what?”
She tipped back and studied face. “You know exactly what you were going to say.”
He hunched his shoulders and raised a single brow. “I was just going to ask if you would like to see the dessert list.”
“I doubt that.”
“Why Violet, you seem disappointed.” He stifled a grin. “What exactly did you want me to say?”
She poked him.
A tiny electric pulse shocked then burned his neck.
“Ow!” He jerked, then nudged away her hand. “Damn it.”
“Understand this, I don’t find your perverse innuendoes funny.”
“Woman, I may be an Elemental, but I can still feel pain.” He rubbed his neck and pondered why her jolt had actually elicited a sexual response.
Violet shrugged.
Her indifferent shrug sent a blaze of fury down his spine, lighting his elemental nature. She really had no idea who she was dealing with.
He arched a brow and flashed a searing grin. “If offending you ignites your inner spark, then I’ll do exactly that, because that is who you really are, that is the woman I want unleashed.” He kissed her once more before settling her stunned form back in her seat.
Ms. Gamma-girl needed to understand she wasn’t the only one who could deliver a shock.
Fire’s Field Release date: May 19th, 2015
A huge thank you to my critique partners and beta readers. Without you lovely ladies, I would not have delivered the best product possible.
My sincerest gratitude.

Nan Reinhardt's New Release
Lovely new addition to Nan Reinhardt's - The Women of Willow Bay Series:
The Summer of Second Chances
It’s never too late to start over…
When Sophie Russo inherits two lakeside cottages in Willow Bay, Michigan, she thinks she can start over with a peaceful, quiet summer.
Boy, is she wrong.
First, there's Henry Dugan, the nerdy genius behind the GeekSpeak publishing empire, who has rented Sophie’s second cottage so he can write his novel. The instant attraction catches them both off guard. He’s fresh off a brutal divorce, and Sophie’s still grieving her beloved Papa Leo, so this is no time to start a relationship, but a casual summer fling might be an option…
Then Sophie’s long-lost mother barrels onto the scene and opens up a long-buried mystery involving Depression-era mobsters and a missing cache of gold coins worth millions that some present-day hoodlums would like to get their hands on.
Suddenly, Sophie’s quiet summer becomes a dangerous dance with her grandfather’s dark past. With Henry at her side--and in her bed--Sophie needs to find a way to make peace with the past and look toward the future… assuming she lives that long.
EXCERPT:
“There!” Sophie Russo brushed her hands on the butt of her jeans and gazed around the living room of the Sandpiper, her guest cottage on the shore of Lake Michigan. The place fairly sparkled—all ready for the new summer renter, her colleague and friend, Henry Dugan, right down to a lovely spot on the screened porch, where he would be able to set up his laptop and work in the breeze off the lake. She and Henry had been working together for years and he was setting aside his publishing empire to write a novel. If he couldn’t get some serious writing done here this summer, it wasn’t going to happen at all.
They’d never met in person, but Henry published the famous GeekSpeak books and as his freelance editor, Sophie had worked on nearly all his computer how-tos over the last ten years. She enjoyed his chatty, familiar voice, and wondered if his fiction had the same easy quality. She hoped he’d let her read the novel. He’d never mentioned using her as his fiction editor, but it made sense. She knew his writing style and they already had a good working relationship. He hadn’t even told her what genre the novel was, but she assumed it was guy-type fiction, political suspense, crime drama, or maybe a mystery….
The mantle clock chimed eleven as she hung fresh towels on the rack in the bathroom and then began making the bed. With the windows open slightly, the crisp May breeze had aired the coverlets nicely, and she smoothed Papa Leo’s favorite log cabin quilt over the clean sheets. She’d never thought about it before, but with the tall pines and spectacular lake views, this cottage was the ideal place for a writer.
A loud noise at the back door nearly sent her sprawling across the bed. Whatever was back there was way bigger than a skunk or raccoon. Apparently, she’d forgotten to lock the door when she left earlier. Great. A break-in and it was only May third! Of course, Beach Road was practically deserted. She’d been the first to open up this season. None of the other summer folks had even arrived yet.
Hands fisted at her sides, she peered into the hall, assessing whether she could get to something she could use to defend herself before the prowler stepped inside. What that would be eluded her completely. Maybe the oar hanging above the fireplace or a badminton racket from the closet in the second bedroom or the hairdryer here on the dresser? All good options except that heavy footsteps sounded in the utility porch and the kitchen suddenly flooded with light.
Would a thief switch on the brightest light in the place, knowing she was right next door? Maybe a dumb one who didn’t bring a flashlight…
Oh, screw it.
Sophie grabbed the hairdryer and brandishing it like a pistol, jumped into the hall with a loud shout. She recognized the intruder immediately. His graying hair was longish, soft, and slightly tousled. Small rectangular wire-rimmed glasses gave him a rather intellectual air. He’d grown a goatee since the last publicity photo, but it was unquestionably Henry Dugan gazing around the cottage before his eyes lit on her.
He had a canvas messenger bag slung over one shoulder, a large duffel in one hand, and a guitar and a brown paper bag that emanated the heavenly scent of onions and fries in the other. Obviously, he’d found Swenson’s, the only fast food place in Willow Bay open after ten p.m.
Her heart pounded and her mouth was dry with residual fear, or maybe it was simply dismay that he’d caught her with her wild hair streaming down her back, no makeup, and clad in pink polka dot pajamas. Shouting and waving a hairdryer at him probably didn’t help either. She couldn’t tell. Whatever, one of them needed to speak. In what was probably a futile attempt to regain her dignity, she set the hairdryer on the table, stopped a few feet away from him, and gave him a tentative smile. “Hello, Henry.”
Nan Reinhardt is a writer of romantic fiction for women in their prime. Yeah, women still fall in love and have sex, even after 45! Imagine! She is also a wife, a mom, a mother-in-law, and a grandmother. She’s been an antiques dealer, a bank teller, a stay-at-home mom, a secretary, and for the last 17 years, she’s earned her living as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader. But writing is Nan’s first and most enduring passion. She can’t remember a time in her life when she wasn’t writing—she wrote her first romance novel at the age of ten, a love story between the most sophisticated person she knew at the time, her older sister (who was in high school and had a driver’s license!) and a member of Herman’s Hermits. If you remember who they are, you are Nan’s audience! She’s still writing romance, but now from the viewpoint of a wiser, slightly rumpled, menopausal woman who believes that love never ages, women only grow more interesting, and everybody needs a little sexy romance.
Visit Nan’s website at www.nanreinhardt.com, where you’ll find links to all her books as well as blogs about writing, being a Baby Boomer, and aging gracefully…mostly. Nan also blogs every Tuesday at Word Wranglers, sharing the spotlight with three other romance authors.

Donya Lynne's Finding Lacey Moon interview, excerpt, and giveaway
Welcome back, Donya. It’s been a while since you stopped by. The last time for Winter’s Fire. I’m excited learn more about your latest release, Finding Lacey Moon. Then how about we do and something you and I love—a giveaway. Here's the first question:
One trait you share with your heroine in this book?
Like Lacey, I have had to reinvent and find myself in the past. My first reinvention came when I moved away from home the first time at the age of twenty-one, to a city more than 5 hours away and where I knew almost no one. My second reinvention came after losing my job in 2010. When I couldn’t find a new job, I decided to give the publishing career I’d studied ten years for a shot. I’m so glad I did.
One thing you have learned as a writer this year?
I learned that I have plenty of time to write. Bear with me here. In November, as I prepared my goals for 2015, I overhauled my daily routine and how I operated my writing business. At the time, I was taking a class called “Write 50 Books in a Year.” As I worked through the lessons, I got brutally honest and had a Come-to-Jesus meeting with myself. The first thing I said to myself was that this was a business. Just because I worked from home didn’t mean I could do what I wanted when I wanted. I remember saying to myself, “If this were a day job, I would be getting up by 6:00 to get ready for work. I wouldn’t be sleeping until 7:30 or 8:00. From now on, I have to get up at 6:00.”
The second thing I did was look at how much time I was playing online games. I was a Tetris addict. The nice thing about Tetris is that it tells you how many games you’ve played, and each game is two minutes long. I was playing Tetris on two accounts, but I played other games, as well. My “reasons” were that I needed a brain break or that I’d earned a few minutes of play. Let me tell you how many words of writing I lost while enabling myself to play games. On just one account…on just Tetris alone…I had played over 80 hours. I write about 1,000 words an hour. That’s 80,000 words I could have written. That’s a novel. Taking into consideration that I was playing other games and had only calculated the time I played Tetris on only one account, you can see how badly I’d shot myself in the foot. It’s hard to see how much time you’re wasting until you do the math. I removed all game apps that very moment. I no longer play any games.
One writer you'd LOVE to have lunch with?
I want to have lunch with Lara Adrian.
How is Finding Lacey Moon different from your previous works?
Finding Lacey Moon reveals a softer, more romantic side of eroticism than my previous books, which have been more overt in their sexuality. Don’t get me wrong, this one is still erotic. It just proves that there doesn’t have to be a lot of sex to be sexy.
You're promoting this book as something different from the billionaire bdsm playboy, why?
I recently saw a reader poll by another author where reader after reader said they were sick of billionaire playboys and BDSM and wanted both to die a quick death in fiction. I conducted a similar poll with my readers and received many of the same answers. One reader even said this was the first year she didn’t have any romance on her Christmas wish list because she was over the Fifty Shades knockoffs, billionaires, BDSM, etc. I was happy when I read all the responses, because when I wrote Finding Lacey Moon, I was afraid the audience for it would be small. Sounds like readers are hungry for books like Finding Lacey Moon. Books that aren’t so overtly sexual. Books that tell a story more than shock them with sex.
What is your 2015 release schedule?
At the risk of jinxing myself, here is my plan for book releases in 2015. Keep in mind that this schedule is subject to change if unforeseen circumstances arise.
February 9 - Finding Lacey Moon
April - Full Circle
June - AKM book bundle of Rise of the Fallen, Heart of the Warrior, and Micah’s Calling
August - Bound Guardian Angel (WOO HOO!!)
October - Strong Karma Series Companion or a 2nd AKM book bundle
December - Strong Karma Companion, Severin’s Muse, or a Strong Karma followup novella
I have a couple of other projects I would like to publish this year if I can complete them in time. We’ll see how it goes. It’s going to be a busy year, as I’m also judging the RWA RITAs and the IRWA IGO contest.
Finding Lacey Moon Blurb:
Champion snowboarder, Lacey Moon, is in the middle of an identity crisis. She’s lost her love of the sport, could care less about winning another gold medal, and has no idea who she is anymore. After a devastating fall during the Olympics, she tumbles into depression. Desperate to find a way out of the vicious, draining cycle of her life, she latches on to a crazy idea that gives her the first glimpse of hope she’s felt in over a year. Concealing her identity, she flees the familiarity of home, striking out on a journey with no destination in mind. The open road and her gut are her only maps, and her intuition tells her she’ll know she’s where she needs to be once she gets there.
Scott McCord runs McCord Cabin Rentals with his brother in Hope Falls, Idaho. In high school, Scott was destined for greatness as a wide receiver, earning a football scholarship and early recognition for ultimate success in the pros. But one act of deception changed everything, and Scott’s life hasn’t been the same since. Now, his world is centered on his daughter, and he’s abandoned hope of ever finding a woman to share his life with.
When Lacey arrives in Hope Falls, she knows she’s found her destination. The small town feels like home. It isn’t long before her and Scott’s paths cross, and when their eyes meet, fireworks fly. For the first time in ten years, Scott can see himself falling in love again. And the more time Lacey spends with the Scott, the more she realizes he is her future. There’s just one problem. Lacey hasn’t told Scott her true identity. When the truth comes out, she could lose everything she hoped to find in Hope Falls.
Finding Lacey Moon Excerpt:
In the reflection off the glass, she saw the light turn off in the kitchen. A moment later, he approached behind her.
“Did you make these?” She kept her eyes on his face in the reflection.
“Yes.” He stopped close enough that she felt his body heat against her back. “I used to enjoy building models when I was younger. Now…” His voice trailed off as his hands eased over her hips. His nose nuzzled her hair, and his eyes closed. “Now, I’m just too busy.” He spoke slowly, his voice breathy.
The tension that had been hanging over them all night finally broke, and Lacey swayed back as his hands crept around to the front. It was suddenly very hot inside Scott’s cabin. Blistering to the point she felt dizzy.
“Your hair’s longer,” he murmured absently, swirling his nose in a slow circle before kissing the back of her head.
She licked her lips, losing her grip on reality. Behind her, Scott was mounting an untenable offensive she had no hope of stopping, even if she wanted to. Which she didn’t. In front of her, she watched the play-by-play in their reflection.
Every sense was engaged or soon would be. She could see him, feel his touch, hear his breath whisper through her hair, smell the gentle, clean scent of his shampoo. And she knew if this kept up, she would taste him.
But for now, he seemed content to remain behind her, caressing her stomach, kissing her hair, pressing closer.
Her focus waned as her eyes closed. Somewhere in the recesses of her awareness, she felt him take her wine from her hand, heard the base of the glass clink quietly on a nearby shelf, and felt his fingers begin unfastening the buttons of her sweater.
She opened her eyes as he took a step back and slowly dragged her sweater off her arms. She didn’t care where he put it. The floor, the back of the couch, the trash. Just as long as he kept touching her, kept kissing her, kept making her feel like a treasured relic.
His nose dipped into her hair again, and his chest rose against her back as he inhaled and lay his hands on her bared shoulders, right over the straps of her camisole.
“Stay with me tonight,” he whispered, his warm breath filtering through her hair to her scalp.
She drew in a barely-controlled breath as his fingers hooked one strap and slid it down her shoulder. His other arm wound around her waist and pulled her snugly against him so that the hard angles of his body molded into the soft curves of hers.
“Spend the night with me, Mattie. Please.” The last he whispered while circling his nose in her hair. His fingers trembled on her shoulder as he teased the strap of her camisole. The tiny quake rippled through his whole body. Up his arm, through his torso, and down his other arm, which tensed around her waist. She felt its entire journey.
He exhaled a shuddering breath that sounded like a light attempt at a chuckle. “I can’t believe I’m so nervous.”
She found his disquiet sexy and strangely flattering. What woman didn’t want to feel as special as he was making her feel this very second? She was the first woman he’d dated in ten years. That alone was enough for her to believe she was a cherished treasure. But to witness his barely contained anxiety in the moment was extraordinarily intimate. Erotic even.
“I like it.” She spoke softly, keeping the mood intact. “It’s…charming.” She bowed her head, biting her lip as he played with her hair.
The embers in the fireplace sizzled, adding an apropos soundtrack to Scott’s intoxicating seduction.
Placing one arm over his and reaching around with the other to grip his triceps, she inhaled his clean scent then said quietly, “I like hot tea with my breakfast.”
He exhaled as if from relief then brushed her hair aside. “Is Earl Grey okay?” She heard the smile in his voice.
Butterflies lit in her stomach, and she gave a subtle nod. “It’ll work.”
