THE GREAT FEUDAL PORT OF MALACCA

THE GREAT PREMORDEN FEUDAL ENTRY PORT OF MALACCA                                                                        By: Kassim Ahmad                                                                    Revised on 3rd May, 1017                                                             darul_hilmah333@yahoo.com.my
One high official in the Malacca administration, sensing bad things to come, said, "Oh gold, God you certainly are not, but what you desire you get!" It was just before Malacca fell to the Protugees.    At that time more than 80 nations traded at the port of Malacca, with Malay as the .lingua franca. Islam came to these parts even earlier. Malacca was greater and prior to Venice! More than 80 nations must included the whole world. One of the rulers imitated the second caliph, Omar Ibni Khattab, to patrol the villages at night when he heard a child crying for lack of something to eat. He went to the state store-house and carried a sack of flower and gave it to the parents. This was also done by Iraq's prime minister Saddam Hussein.    Iraq was later invaded by a group of Western powers, and has since seen no peace.    An Iraqi ambassador, I know, sough asylum in Malaysia.    It is to be noted that Malaya is part of the larger Malay Would consisting of Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, the Philippines and Pattani.     Now that the collonial in tnterregnum is over should we not attempt to seeks again a United Malay World? Rather a Federation of Malay World? It should also  include the Phillipines, although it has been been christianised and and speaki Tagalog.    A united federation of Malay world would be that fourth largest country in the world, and the largest Muslim population. Basing ourselves on the Prophet's Medinah Charter, we should be able to lead the world to seek a peaceful and just world without nuclear weapons. There is no reason we cannot do it, man being given the task of of a  khalifah, a vicegerent of God on Earth.

WHO IS GOD?

WHO IS GOD?                                                                            By: Kassim Ahmad                                                                                28 April, 2017                                                                darul_hikmah333@yahoo.com.my
God is the superpower that created this world. Did you see Him create it? No. You assume that He did, since nothing comes out of nothing. What about evolution? Things just evolve out of primordial gas or whatever. Surely this is the Great Unknown! You are only assuming. Yes, I am assuming. Yet there is the philosophical Necessary Being of God, all else being contingent upon the action of the Necessary Being. As the philosopher says, "I think, therefore I am." Yet what is thinking? Do the minerals, the trees and the animals not think?.They certainly have instincts. Is not instinct a lower form of thinking?     If there is a lower form of thinking, what would be the higher form? It is supralogical, the haqqalyaqin of the Quran. It not illogical. It is supralogical.   You need a book of wisdom to inform you of this. You need a book of knowledge, a sure book of knowledge, from the Most Knowledgeable, in short God. So you cannot run away from God.   Some intelligent people have told us there are two books, the written book of scripture, and the unwritten book of Nature. That is surely true, being logically plain.   We come back to the question of God -- Who is God?   Let us try the methodology of knowledge, Epestimology. How do we know?   We begin with our sensory organs, the eye (seeing), the ear (hearing) and so on. That is the simplest. We go up the ladder to logical deduction, to the highest of truth, the truth of existence, the ainul-yaqin, the ilmul-yaqin, and to the haqqal-yaqin of the Quran. There you have complete the methodology of truthful existence.   Lets us test it with God. Since everything has a cause, what about the last cause, the Uncaused Cause, God? God has to stand alone. He Is The Uncaused Cause. Is that possible? Our mind and knowledge, limited as they are, cannot fathom it. Yet Man is here, tasked by God, as the Quran says, as the ruler and remaker of the universe.    Why did God not make a perfect universe? If He were to do it, the he would have created two gods! Two gods is one god too many!     All the religions of the world began as monotheism. After about 300 years, it turns into polytheism. That happens even to the monotheism brought by the last prophet-messenger, Prophet Muhammad. Muhammad not only brought a scripture, the Quran. The Quran is the only scripture that is protected from corruption. Science and technology has reached a point that they can do so. It is no accident. As God said in the Quran, everything created has be measured in exact measure. Creation is mathematically designed. How wonderful!

ISLAM -- BETWEEN NATIONAL IDENTITY AND ARABISATION                                                                 By: Kassim Ahmad                                                                     19 April, 2017                                                        darul_hikmah333@yahoo.com.my    Recenly an old friend, an imam (prayer leader) in a rural area visited me. I was amazed that he was attired in Arab dress. Normally only during Muslim festival after the fasting month of Ramadan do I put on my full Malay dress. When I attended the recent Cultural Congress, I wore my batik shirt.    In the evening I had another function where  I had to give a talk and recite my poetry. I had my batik shirt on over which I wore my coat. I delivered my talk, a sarmary of my life' journey to find the truth. Another poet also recited his poems.    I told the audience they can ask me any questions. In the cultural congress, I raised my hands three times to speak. The moderator continued to allow other people to speak on particular subjects. So I left the hall, because I had another function to attend that afternoon.   Most Malays seem to think of Islam as an Arab phenomenon. Prophet Abrahan was not an Arab, nor was Noah and many others. God informs us in the Quran that He sent a messenger to every community. We can see this Arabisation in the language we use, like salat when before we use the word sembahyang. The Sultan of Johore was among the first to point to this phenomenon of Arabisation.     I am not sure about the women's tudung. My mother and her contemporaries never it wore it. They wore the selendang, an eligent head cover. Nowadays, the women say the must cover their 'aurat.   The word 'aurat is from Arabic, meanig 'nakedness'. Nakedness should mean the chest down to below the kness for both men and women. For the men, it was stipulated olny from the navel down to below the kness! You can be sure that they are male chauvinists. Most men are so protective of their women they want hide their womens's beauty from the gaze of other men!    The wife of famous Indonesia religious scholar, Hamka, never wore it.    Some Malay women are even proud of wearing the tudung. The argue that they are God-fearing people! Since it is not prescribed in the Quran, wearing it can in stead  bring harm to a woman's hair. A male chauvinist once argued that even then a woman's hair should logically be covered since it attracts other men and encourage adultery! This surely is an animal arguing from for freedom of sex!    As for beauty of form, no one is more handsome that Prophet Joseph whom even the wife of the governor of old Egypt, Zulaikah, could not resist.  .

THE CREATION OF MAN

THE CREATION OF MAN                                                                            By: Kassim Ahmad                                                                               12 April, 2017                                                           darul_hikmah333@yahoo.com.my
The Quran states that God created man from one being, then his mate, and from the two many beings of many tribes and nation. But the best are the ones who worship God totally without associating Him with any being or with any thing. These are called submitters or muslims or mukmins or who have internalised God into thei selves.      God, of course, does not need their worship of Him. He is the philosophical Necessary Being while the universe, including man is contingent being. Man is God's shadow on earth. He has been sent to the earth to retrieve himself after being duped by God's enemy, the Devil, for opposing God's order to bow down to Man. This order is symbolic of Man's ability to know. Knowledge is power, power to rule and remake the universe.      Why did God create an imperfect universe? Perfection is God Who exists by Himself. Read the Throne Verse (2: 255) to know Who God is. God is Power Perfect. He does not create another god to rival Him. Two gods is one two many. It is illogical and therefore a great wrong, destined for hell.       There are three types of man, or rather ideologies or beliefs, the true belief, monotheism, the false belief, polytheism, and in between you have hipocracy. These beliefs bring about their consequences of the psychological states of mind of unease and contentment, the ammarah, the lawwamah and the jannah of the Quran.       These psychological states exist now in this world, to be continued in the hereafter. The hereafter is a logical continuation of this  world, on a higher ethical and spiritual level. Man therefore does not dies. The Quran likens death to sleep, and waking to resurrection, as his soul is a breath of the divine soul. The term 'death' used in the Quran is  life potential before it becomes factual.      What is God then? God is Pure Energy. It is so powerful that no created being can withstand it. There will a time when billions of years from now this immensely vase universe will be bereft of energy. It will collapse upon itself, leaving "the Countenance of God", whatever that means. A divine Hadith (Hadith Qudsi) has it, "I was alone at the beginning. I am now as I was before." That means only God exist. Man or the universe does not! ___________________________________KASSIM AHMAD  is a Malaysian author. His website is

THE RISE AND FALL OF ISLAMBy: Kassim Ahmad17th  Jan...

THE RISE AND FALL OF ISLAM By: Kassim Ahmad17th  January, 2016 Revised and expanded on 19thMarch, 2016darul_hikmah333@yahoo.com.my
The Quran in Surah Ali-‘Imran (3) states that “The only religion approved by God is Islam.” The Arabic word ‘deen’ essentially mean ‘way of life’ rather that the restricted ritualistic meaning of the word ‘religion’. This religion of strict monotheism is taught by all prophet-messengers from Adam to its completion and perfection by Muhammad, the last of all prophet-messegers. The previous prophet-messengers were sent to national communities. Only Prophet Muhammad was sent to the entire world. This is stated in the Quran. (7: 158). The only book he brought was the Quran, a protected divine scripture. But, as it is wont with human beings, corruption and deterioration set in and complete their work in after about 300 years (10 generations) to change the original teachings. Thus, the monotheism of Prophet Moses became polytheism in Judaism, of Prophet Jesus polytheism in Christianity, and of Muhammad polytheism in Sunnism. Sunnism is polytheistic in that it has elevated Muhammad to a second god, against his will. KASSIM AHMAD is a freelance Malaysian author. His website is www.kassimahmad.blogspot.com
See Quran (16: 51) which states: “Do not worship two gods. There is only one God.” Further Surah 63, verse I, invalidates the second syahadah which is uttered by hypocrites. God has proclaimed: “Do not worship two gods; there is only on god. Therefore you shall reverence Me.” (Quran, 16: 51).

NATIONAL POLITICAL CONFERENCE

Hesmel Faisal aqalkalayuda@yahoo.com Search emails
THE PURPOSE OF THE NATIONAL  POLITICAL CONFERENCE                                                          By: Kassim Ahmad                                                                    8th April, 2017

It was late for me to get up, as I normally do at 2.30 in the morning to do my tahajjud prayers and go to work in my office. Although late (3.45 A.M) I could not sleep anymore, thinking of the National Political Conference that my friends and I are planning to hold before the end of this year.   What is its purpose? It is extremely important to spell it out clearly. Total reforms. Not just any reforms. It should move the Malaysia masses that the Government must heed.   Papers, not too many, must be prepared and thoroughly debated and discussed. We should have and example from our past and it should be relevant. We should pass a good resolution.   When I was young, I used to write poems and short stories. I published them in an anthology titled Kemarau di Lembah (Penang: 1907). The titled can be literally translated as "drought in a  valley", meaning a country lacking in ideas and great thoughts.   So I dragged myself out of bed, prayed quickly and went into my office to write this article. I never thought I have a life mission. I was born into a poor family in the deep rural areas of northern Kedah. Although I was a gifted student in the secondary school in Alor Setar, at times I was mad enough to want to be a poor man! So loving of me of the poor!. That was why I joined the socialist club when I was in the University. Later I even became the leader of a  socialist party for eighteen years!     As I said, I never thought I have a life mission. Now it seems a life mission has been thrust upon me. I re-read my poem entitled "Satu Sumpahan", translated "A Pact" written in 1958 when I was 26. I shall reproduce this poem in full here: /Those who are my brothers, come/I don't care what name you have/ we have a pact to make/against the enemies of our land/ /Admiral Cheng Ho has returned/in truth, I don't care if not in strength/Rama is safe with Sita/his golden arrow is strung//Then let Tuah rise and speak/what of god and jin/what of hue and blood/what of flesh/we are born men//Those who are my brothers, fall out/I don't care for style and parliament/we shall sign here in blood/against the enemies of mankind.//Together, together march my brothers/like Tuah and Jebat of old/we have named our sacred land /ourselves will stand along her shores/come then ye busy police of the world/   Well, I do not know how I could have penned that! Reading that makes my blood boil!   Now I guess that National Political Conference has to accomplish a Herculine task. Good luck!    . .

MISI BESAR DUNIA MELAYU

MIRSI BESAR DUNIA MELAYU Oleh: Kassim Ahmad24 Julai, 2012
KASSIM AHMAD seorang penulis bebas Malaysia.   Quran, 9: 33)   Arab Sa’udi, sekutu A.S. menumbuk rusuk Rusia dengan cek berharga DAS 6 bilion supaya Rusia tidak menghalang serangan A.S. terhadap Iraq. Quran, 3: 54. (Quran, 9: 111)

QURAN RECITAL

QURAN RECITAL AND HYPOCRACY AT ITS BEST                                By: Kassim Ahmad                                                                 7 April, 2017                It is now the season of Quranic recital in our beloved country of Master Jurist Imam Shafi’e’s TWO PRICIPAL SOURCES (Quran and Hadith). One god, it seems, is not enough. The reciter one after another is declaring his or her (with her hair properly covered up) devotion to the Quran! It seems they could not careless if they practice what they say. Its is hypocricy at its best or highest!    I sat listening with sorrow. I am so angry  at this clever-clever ignorance that I wanted to challenge them to a debate. This I will surely do one day. That day will be soon, God-willing.   One of my grand-daughters were staying with us. She is a first-year student in one of our many universities and having a two-week vacation. So I engaged her with some intellectual conversation. My questions were: (1) Why are Muslim nations now at far down the ladders of nations, when they were once at the top? (2) Why are they singing the Quran? Is the Quran a song book?    Of course she knows the answers. I have briefed them all on all these matters, and more. She also knows that I will challenge the ulama, the non-existent priesthood of latter-day changed sectarian Islam.    I am old, going to be 84 on September this year. But I am young in spirit, brimming with ideas. My wife sometimes chided me for doing nothing. When I am doing “nothing”, I am actually writing a new article in my head. I develyoped my liking for essay writing in my secondary school. At a young age I wrote for newspapers and magazines, and even debated on philosophical subjects.   I have written many books. I sometimes joked with my friends that had I lived in Europe, my book royalties would have made me a millionaire. ___________________________________KASSIM AHMAD is a Malaysia author. His website is
