Today has been one of those sore thumb days. Well DIY does tend to be filled with them. What led to this sad event is that my sons computer chair broke. Magz decided she wished it repaired even though Calum decided to buy a new one. repairing a seat sounds easy enough right. Sadly not when the bolts holding the chair together have snapped. Trying to get the broken ends out of the holes has proven painful. The first one, as always, came out with relative ease. Unfortunately the other one has refused to as simply. In the end I gave up for tonight and will try again tomorrow. That will give mine and my daughter's fingers time to stop throbbing. I think it would have been easier to get rid of the seat as Calum said. Though now I have started trying to repair it, well you know. Why is it when we start doing something like this we can't stop? Well at least until all chance of success is gone. Is it just a male thing? Something to do with our wish to impress even though there is no need? An ancient instinct still hot wired into our brains or something to do with culture? It does make me wonder sometimes.
I still have the decorations to put away in the attic. Yes it is always something that we drag out in our house. Though Magz took the tree down last week it is still sitting in the hallway waiting to be consigned to storage till next needed. Which we are all glad to say isn't for some time. The festive season can be taxing after all, though the gifts are good, hehehe.

Well the ASIC my son ordered from EBay never arrived. After several excuses from the vendor Calum was forced to go through the resolution centre to get his money back. I decided to spend some of the little Bitcoin I had left and went to Bitmain, I checked them out and they have a good rep in the Bitcoin community. So now I am waiting for two Antminer S3's coming from China. The third batch, which mine is part of, begin shipping next week. Add to that the time for shipping and I might be mining coin again by the end of this month. I would have just ordered one unfortunately they weren't allowing anything under two per order. Yes I know what your thinking, one for my son. Sadly not this time as I am still paying Tammy back for the last one I got him. Plus the fact that I have a lot of bitcoins to make back after all the equipment that I have spent my reserves on that didn't work, as well as the latest batch. So no I will be using both myself.
Out in the garden, which the rain is watering nicely today, my remaining plants are doing well. That is other than the cherry trees and my eating apple tree. They aren't doing well at all. Spraying them seems to have little effect. At the start of the season I really thought they were going to do well this year. Next year I will need to make the hard decision on whether ort not to cut them down. If I do I will need to replace the apple tree for the sake of the cooking apple one, which is doing really great. In fact the number of apples on it are weighing it down so much that it has needed extra support to prevent it uprooting itself. So it will give us plenty of pies this year, yum.

I've come down with the cold. It is at that annoying stage where its sitting at the back of my nasal passages and causing me a minor headache. Being the last in the family to get it everyone else is basically unsympathetic to how I'm feeling. Which really is the norm I suppose. As you know though I hate it when illness strikes but who does? You just have to let it run its course though. Sadly that will be several days going by how the rest of the family suffered it. Calum made the biggest moan while Magz was the sickest. That is to be expected considering her health isn't that great to begin with. Sadly the Flu shot she got in autumn didn't give a great deal of protection this year. Luckily now she is on the mend just as I start to feel the rough runniness that signals the beginning.
Gardening season should be upon us soon. The garden is in need of some major tidying. I also need to get out to spray the trees to improve the chance of getting some fruit from the cherry trees. I already pruned the cooking apple tree a month or two ago but lazily left the trimming on the green. The rain was starting so I just wanted to get in doors before the heavens drenched me. I did put it all in one small pile so my excuse isn't that great. And I should have went out by now to clear the grass of the twigs. I just been to lazy to tell the truth. Or rather I just haven't been able to motivate myself beyond doing a daily job search. It is like the energy I had when I became jobless has now drained away. With it days have drifted by leaving me wondering where they have gone. Maybe I will regain so of that energy as the gardening season sweeps in. At least I hope I do.
