Another NIGHT BLADE status update…Kindle & Kobo!
We have it on iBooks, Kindle & Kobo.
Okay, so as of now, if you haven’t bought NIGHT BLADE, it’s available on Kindle and the file is fine.
ETA: okay, the file comes up and goes down. I’m told this is related to database issues. Whatever that means… ??? It should be resolved soon.
The problem is those who’ve preordered… I had it preordered and it looks like the ‘updated’ file isn’t available yet. I’ve tried doing the archive thing, removing it from my device, etc, etc…and it’s not doing any good.
If you want to request a refund and buy again, that might be your best bet.
So far, here is where you can get the book with the CORRECT files…
iBookstore | Amazon | Kobo | Smashwords | ARe
I was told the process for getting the corrected file is as follows…but I’m still checking for the correct file myself. If anybody has any luck, let me know.
From what I was told, if you have the book and read via one of the apps (iPad/iPhone)…
Nook: archive, go to archived items, and redownload
Kindle: Remove from device, then redownload
Kobo: archive the book, and then redownload
Apple: delete this copy, go to purchased books bookshelf, redownload
On various readers other than Nook, this should be the process…
all they have to do is delete the book and redownload when the update is live. They don’t need to ask for a refund, or do anything other than redownload the book.
With the Nook:
For B&N, you have to archive, then go into your archive, and redownload.
I’m staying in contact with the distributor and I’ve let them know how frustrating this has been for everybody.
I wish I could fix it but at this point, but even if I attempted to take over and upload the file myself, it would cause problems in the system–the platforms would detect two ‘identical’ files and they’d be flagged and it would slow things down even more as they clarified copyright, etc.
Thanks to all you who have been so patient. I appreciate it.

The current status is… we have it at iBooks!
Well, that’s progress… I guess. :(
I’d hoped we’d have this resolved tonight, but no such luck.
I still haven’t heard anything new about other retailers, though… the distributor was contacting Amazon, BN, etc again… we haven’t heard back, so I can’t get you an update.
The new files HAVE been sent out, so it’s a matter of the retailers getting them into the system and out to you all at this point.
Currently, you can get NIGHT BLADE from Smashwords, iBookstore & All Romance Ebooks.
iBookstore | Smashwords | ARe
Also, the print file has been finalized. You can buy it from createspace now and it will be at other channels once it gets through the system. That’s such a vague term… the system. In this day and age, it seems like we should be able to push a button and BAM! It’s done. But it’s not that easy. That’s annoying.
Thanks to everybody who has been so understanding. I do appreciate it.
The current status of Night Blade
From I’ve heard from the book’s distributor…
The files are now being updated/transferred to the retailers… these go out to a LOT of places and it’s not as easy as a click of a button, so it will take some time to get them to all retailers and it take a little more time for the files to get thru the retailers’ various systems. Even uploading to Smashwords ( a very simple system takes a file anywhere from 20-40 minutes to go live sometimes) and when I handled this, the files took a day or so to go live on Amazon. I appreciate your patience and once I see know it’s all finished and we can start looking for the fixed files, I’ll let you know.
YOU DON’T NEED TO REQUEST A REFUND… unless you don’t want to read the book anymore.
ONCE THE FILES ARE FIXED…
Please note, none of this will work until the file is fixed. I’ll post here once I know that happens. I’m going to figure that will happen once I see the ‘warning’ off Amazon’s page.
I’m very sorry about this and I’m every bit as frustrated as you all are. Thanks for your patience, and I’ll let you know once I hear more. And… FYI… I’m going to drink LOTS of wine tonight. Cuz I feel like it.
Night Blade is out today… Edited
PLEASE SEE NOTE AT BOTTON
I’ve been told this book requires chocolate and wine and kleenex. I should have included that as a warning.
I’m also told it’s worth it, though. :) Does that help?
Silence swelled up, one of those deafening silences where you’re painfully aware of the ticking of the clock, of every breath you take, of the slightest, smallest sound.
“I’m told one of them got away. Which one?”
I closed my eyes, tried to think. “I don’t know…there was a third, weaker wolf in the background. Nobody I know. I think Bonner was the one Justin killed. Not sure of that guy’s name, but he was strong.”
Damon nodded. Then he sat up slowly, his eyes narrowing. “Justin. I know that name.”
Oh. Shit.
“He’s the Banner cop I’m working with.”
“No. That’s not why I know it, Kit.”
I stared at his back. The black ink from his tattoo spilled over the top edge of his left shoulder and I could see it shifting, rippling. Muscles flexed under the smooth surface of his skin and I could see the wild heat of his energy hovering above him. Mad. He was mad. Oh, yes.
“Who is Justin, Kit?”
I leaned back against the headboard and drew my knees to my chest. “I used to see him for a while.”
The muscles in his back knotted tighter. “Find another Banner cop to work with.”
“Not an option, Damon.” I blew out a careful breath and swallowed past the knot that had decided to lodge itself in my throat. “This isn’t a thing for you to worry about—”
He went from sitting on the edge of the bed to crouched over my knees so fast, I never even saw it coming. I was good. I was fast. I thought I knew how fast he was…and I was wrong.
“Don’t tell me what’s a thing for me to worry about,” he whispered, his voice just barely human now. “I told you that I’d try harder, but I never said I’d hold it together while you worked with some guy you used to fuck.”
“Stop it,” I warned him softly even as a forgotten fear tried to wing itself to life inside. I wasn’t going to be afraid and I wasn’t going to do this. Lifting a hand, I touched his cheek. He tensed like he might move away and if he had, I might have shattered. He didn’t though and I managed to keep that part of me from dying. “If I had a choice in this, I wouldn’t work with him. I don’t want this job and if I had my way, I’d bury my blade so far up his ass, I’d see the end of it out his throat.”
“Then do it,” he snarled. “I’ll help you bury the body.”
“I can’t.” If I do, they’re going to kill you…

HEADS UP… there is a problem with the files uploaded to Amazon, Ibookstore and BN (probably Kobo as well). The files at Smashwords and ARe are correct-I handled those myself over the weekend.
I am very sorry about this… as soon as I know it’s fixed, I’ll let you know.

Problem with Night Blade/UK Version
Okay, first… this problem will be fixed… I am really sorry, I do not know how it happened, but I promise, it will be fixed… it should only take a couple of days.
Somehow the file for my book STOLEN got uploaded to some sites instead of NIGHT BLADE. I don’t handle the distribution for my books anymore…the service I use gets the books to a wider market and takes a great deal of work off my hands, and hopefully they’ll be able to get this fixed ASAP. I’ve already contacted them to see what’s going on, but…eh, it’s Sunday. Once I hear back, I’ll let you know when we can expect to get it fixed.
I know for sure it’s the wrong file on Amazon.co.uk. I’m not sure where else it’s an problem. If you haven’t already pre-ordered/downloaded it, you might want to check the sample.
There should be a sample either on the first or second page that is Kit…she’s having an argument with a guy called Justin. If you see characters Elliott & Shay? Not the right book.
If you have pre-ordered NIGHT BLADE, once the file gets fixed, you should be able to download the correct file with no trouble.
Again, I am so sorry.
I’d like to say I’m going to go hide in the corner, but…well. This is the second time this has happened to me and I figure the only way to handle it is to either just…laugh… uncontrollable, and hysterically… or maybe have a glass of wine.
Win me… (well, kinda sorta) a date at RT 2013 or Lori Foster’s!

Holding out for a heroine…
Zach Barnes read the note. Then he dropped it, pressed his fingers to his eyes and rubbed. He’d been up late last night, working on some designs. He was tired. That was all. He’d read it again and the message would be different.
He knew it.
But when he picked it back up, the message remained the same.
Abby called. Wedding is off.
The wedding. The day he’d been dreading for the past year. He had it circled in black marker on his calendar and although nobody else knew, he’d taken to calling it “Black Saturday.” The bleakest fucking day of his entire life . . . the day the woman he loved was going to marry somebody else.
It was two months away and he’d been wishing like hell he could be anywhere else, do anything else, even if it involved hot coals, torture, and fire ants. But when your best friend was getting married, you had to be there. Especially when she’d asked you to give her away.
He was going to have to walk her down the aisle. He was going to have to lift her damn veil . . . So what if it was viscerally painful for him? It didn’t matter that he’d been in love with her his entire life. She’d found the man she wanted to marry and it wasn’t him. He had to deal with it, right?
Except this message said the wedding was off. It wasn’t adding up in his head.

Night Blade… just 3 days…
have you entered…

“Not good,” Xavier muttered and his head cut to me, his gaze raking over me. “You bled, sugar. I can’t completely mask that smell.”
All the oxygen dwindled out of my lungs as Damon climbed out of the car, his eyes narrowed, head tipped back.
I knew what he was doing. He’d caught a scent. Mine…?
“Can he smell it?”
Xavier’s jaw clenched. “Not entirely. It’s more like…something he forgot. Smell and memory are pretty tightly linked, but the cloaking is screwing with it so he’s not sure—”
Both of us froze as Damon knelt in the dirt, studying the track the bike had taken. He followed the path with his eyes and although he couldn’t see us, he was looking right at the bike, his gaze puzzled as he tried to think it through. He couldn’t see the bike, but if he walked over there…
Oh, shit—
Xavier’s breathing hitched. He lifted a hand and I did the same. Leveling my blade at him, I said quietly, “Do a damn thing to hurt him and I’ll carve your dick off, you hear me?”
“Give me some credit.” He flicked his wrist and Damon stilled, looking back toward the interstate.
I didn’t hear anything, but Damon apparently did.
His phone rang in the next second. He answered it, straightening from his crouch, still staring at the earth.
Only thirty feet separated us.
My ears weren’t as keen as his, but the cloaking spell didn’t affect me and I could hear the phone call just fine.
It was Chang on the other end. “Is it done?”
“It’s done. Keep your ears open. And if you hear anything about where in the hell I can find…” Damon was staring off into the distance now, but the look on his face—it was enough to freeze the blood in my veins.

“You still want to go for a run, Toronto?”
He couldn’t speak. For the life of him, he couldn’t say a damn word.
So instead, he gathered that dark, silky hair in one hand and slanted his mouth over hers. As she met his kiss, he wrapped his free arm around her waist and hauled her against him. Naked, her skin still warm from the bath, she fit him perfectly, those amazing curves aligning next to his body like she’d been made for him.
He growled against her lips as she rocked against him.
“I thought you said no grabby hands,” he muttered against her mouth.
“I wasn’t being completely honest…I planned to do plenty of grabbing. I just wanted to do it my way.” She pulled back a fraction, staring into his eyes, clear challenge written on her face. “Is that a problem?
She was in his arms, naked. “Hell, no.”
“Good.” A pleased smile curled her lips as she stroked her hands along his waist, then dipped them under his shirt, pushing it up as she went until she could strip it away completely.
As it fell to the floor by the other one, she eased back, staring into his eyes for a long moment before lowering her gaze. Toronto held still as she lifted her hands and curved them over his shoulders, stroking down, her fingers learning the planes and ridges of his body. When she reached the small ring percing his left nipple, she paused. Lifting a brow, she touched it, tugging it lightly. “Silver, Toronto?”
He shrugged. “I got bored one night.”
“So you pierced yourself with silver. You trying to poison yourself?” She continued to toy with it, her skeptical gaze lingering on his face.
“I’m too strong for that little bit of silver to poison me.” He grinned at her, trying not to react while she played with the ring. It shouldn’t feel that damn good, he knew it. But while he was too strong for that bit of silver to poison him, that bit of silver piercing his flesh did make him damn sensitive there and it was almost painfully erotic to have her tugging on it like that.
“So you did this because you were bored?” A wicked grin curved her lips. “You get bored a lot? What else did you pierce?”
Her gaze dropped low and a visceral, blistering punch of heat raced through him even as he instinctively winced. “Not there, sweetheart.” Although if it felt like that when she toyed with it?
