On the first official night of New York Fashion Week, a show put on by homeless youth demonstrated the power of design.
Homeless youth have little to look forward to. Maybe this experience will be all the encouragement one will need to try their hands at fashion design or at least working in the fashion industry.

“Where are you from? No, where are you really from?” It’s a small question that gets asked every day. The question can be off-putting to some people and there’s a reason why: It’s personal. It can make people on the receiving end feel like they really don’t belong. It can be a harmless ask, but it often depends on the context and who’s asking.
Contrary to the popular belief system European Americans are not the standard by which a “real” American can be judged. We all should acknowledge that the “real” Americans are of the tribes of indigenous people who arrived on this continent centuries prior to the continent being discovered and exploited by European countries. After that the timelines for arrival on this continent is equally shared by European and Africans.

Democrats are taking a cautious victory lap after rolling Trump on a short-term debt deal
As an American citizen who also happens to be a voter I hate feeling like my desires and needs are secondary or even immaterial to the elected politicians of this country. Sure there needed to be a solution to the debt situation but keeping the government working should be a priority for all elected officials this should not be a party issue.
