Elbow Woes

I'm having a bout of tendinitis in my right elbow, so naturally I'm feeling more inspired to work with my hands than I have in weeks. An elastic brace and liberal applications of Tiger Balm help. Stayed up all night working on several projects, then went out vintage-hunting. No dresses today, but some cute shoes and handbags I hope to list later.

Luxuries and Necessities

Sadly, taking the time and mental energy to blog feels like a luxury of the past these days. I don't miss the sound of my own (virtual) voice, but I miss the connections made. I spend most of my time trying to figure out a way to turn a buck, which as many of you probably know isn't easy for a freelancer in this economy. Sometimes I feel like just lying on the floor, beating my fists and kicking my feet, and bawling for a year or so, but most of the time I persevere. I've added quite a few things to my shop, and am trying to branch out into vintage clothing sales, since I have some good contacts for nice old clothes and there's a part of me that will never stop noticing cute dresses even though I've no desire to wear them anymore. The ones I've listed so far are around US sizes 6-8, but if there's interest, I will try to score some other sizes.

NOLA Jewels for Halloween

Newly listed NOLA Jewels for the Halloween season. I particularly love the orange glass beads in the bracelets -- I don't think they are actually antique Mardi Gras beads, but they remind me of them. Trying my hand at making some Halloween decorations, too.

"WRONG: A Self-Portrait," acrylic paint, found hardware, and photographic self-portrait on glass, mounted on 12" x 16" stretched canvas. The screws and washers spell out WRONG in Morse code.
