Crow Report : Part 7

On A Black Wing & A Whistled Prayer

You can’t imagine the shame I felt when I realized I’d not posted a Crow Report since December of 2019! I knew that needed to be fixed as quickly as possible.

Every Ghost Has A Story - not all of them want it told.

A sadistic doctor hell bent on controlling both the living & the dead would rather keep his final year of life a closed book. It’s a classic ghost story with a twist; it’s told, in part, by the ghosts themselves.

A Big Secret Revealed.

I've been keeping a big secret for the past couple of months. Now that Christmas has passed and my parents have been made privy to this little venture, I can finally share it to the world.

With Covid-19 making 2020 a royal pain in the arse, I needed a break from writing Horror. I turned my attention on something that started over 45 years ago... a little worm named Bill.

I'm Not Who I Think I Am, Or Am I?

I've had more than my fair share of cases of Imposter Syndrome. In fact, it happens daily. Here's how it feels to me and how I attempt to deal with/ignore it as much as I can.

He Looks Good For His Age

On average, what is the life expectancy of a worm? Normally not too long, a few years, though some have lived for twenty or so. Unless.... you're BILL, The Worm Who Ran Away, in which case you turned 45 in May of 2020.

I was nine years old when I wrote and illustrated "BILL, The Worm Who Ran Away". He was updated in 1985, but it wasn't until 2020 that I finally took the big leap and decided it was time to share Bill with the world. Bill The Worm means A LOT to me. He was really my first story, the story that made me want to be a writer, the story that inspired me to take a course on writing Children's Literature and another class in Illustration.

I spent this past Covid Summer giving Bill The Worm new illustrations. I kept the majority of the story as it was written 45 years ago, though, I admit, I did make some changes so it would be a bit longer than the original version. Still... it was written from the heart of nine-year-old me and I hope, even though it's not Horror, you'll check it out and maybe buy a copy for the child or children in your life!

There's already another Bill The Worm story in the works so stay tuned for that big announcement next year!
