Due to the fact we saw two new Moons in the sign of Aries, the Taurus new Moon on May 19th is very much ‘last minute’ as it appears at 28 degrees of Taurus. What makes this new Moon so important, especially for the birthday sign, is that it follows Jupiter’s arrival into Taurus. And the dark moon will in fact conjunct newly arrived Jupiter in Taurus on the 17th.

This new Moon along with Jupiter brings us all a new experience of relating to the material world. And the hidden message that living rich is actually a mindset. The paradox of using the sound byte from the Abba song about money is of course, these are four people with lots of it. It’s the same as when Lennon/McCartney penned those lyrics: ‘I don’t care too much for money – money can’t buy me love’. Again, a group of people singing about not needing money but having simply shed loads of it.

So, what’s the message here? Jupiter always wants to expand our experience relative to the sign it is in. Taurus rules our bank account, the share markets, our talents (both groups of people mentioned above all made their money via theirs), and most importantly, Taurus and the 2nd house rules our values and our self-worth. Money can’t buy us love. But it can buy us the freedom to do what we love. Or earn it by doing what we love. To love money for its own sake is to dance with a poverty mindset. We can be rich and feel empty even as we contemplate that walk-in closed filled with designer labels the size of a department store. We can have much less but consider ourselves the new rich in that we live lives filled with priceless people and experiences. 

This new Moon ushers in that fresh kind of thinking no matter our current financial circumstances. And the ability to have or make more of what we have at our disposal. No matter how much or little we believe that is. In fact, lack or limitation is something we all need to steer clear of. Feeling rich is an emotional state. And once we enter it, we find more resources to feel rich about. Discover what you have to invest and bank on.

ARIES

Jupiter and the new Moon are of course in your money house. Watch from the 17th just before the new Moon appears, for emerging opportunities to increase your soul or net worth. Especially around ideas you may have. Because this new Moon appears at such a late degree of Taurus, it enters Gemini just hours later. The sign of ideas, communication and commerce. So this two day period could bring in a revelation or highlight something whereby you can make more of the folding stuff. 

If a better paying job is your obvious choice, then do set up your alerts and monitor all the sites including LinkedIn and Creativepool as that ideal position could appear as if the job description had been crafted with you in mind! You might want to ensure that CV is updated and ready to go ahead of time.

Those of you sitting on that project, plan, pitch, side hustle, website or other idea – stop sitting and get moving. Time to launch it or leave it, Aries. The coming month should see abundant flow heading your way. Revel in that rich feeling. And yes, this can be more than what money buys you. TAURUS

If there’s one new Moon which promises you the ability to create something new for yourself, it is the new Moon in your sign, Taurus. And you have not experienced one with such limitless capacity to hand you the tools to manifest your dream life as this one does. Not for 12 years anyway.

From the moment Jupiter arrives in your sign (16th), you will feel the energy shift. You’re lighter, more optimistic and more fiercely daring than you’ve felt in a very long time. Watch for new beginnings as early as the 17th when the dark Moon enters your sign and entangles with Jupiter. The call is: Begin It NOW, Taurus.

Harness your inner power, your desire and your creative soul expression! Above all, love yourself. As you are right now. Yes, some people with the new Moon in their 9th and for you, Taurus, can and do decide to work less, earn less but do more with the time this hands them. One of the things money can’t buy you. But the energy of the 9th is also about expansion and with Jupiter now in here, yes, that includes bigging up that bank account. So, increased earnings are often part of the 9th winning streak.

Travel, studies, anything to do with the great outdoors, sporting activities, adventure, the mass media and big moves and dreams. With Jupiter which rules all of that now in here, what’s that yearning you need money for to experience, Virgo? LIBRA

Jupiter now in your 8th along with this new Moon, lifts the lid of your feelings around how capable you feel taking the reins of your financial destiny. Or even that of a relationships. This is the house where self-empowerment dwells. Your 8th house of Taurus, is the other Venus-ruled sign of the zodiac. So, in many respects you vibe off the energy of it. Even though Venus expresses itself differently in here.  

Thoughts around limitation and lack, not deserving/having enough, not being able to change the status quo or feeling ‘out of control’ when it comes to your income or assets, are only appearing now because they get in the way of the abundance Jupiter has planned for you. Holy Mother! Yes, May’s full Moon in Scorpio is known as the Mother Moon or the Bright Moon. It appears at 14o 58’ of Scorpio early in the evening of that day (17.14 pm). 

The link to ‘Mother’ Earth in the Pagan calendar is clear. As in ancient times this Moon was the time of festivals such as Beltane which honoured fertility, new growth and the earth itself. This year we have a rather different event timed for the day after this full Moon – the coronation of King Charles III – a Scorpio himself. ( He obviously did not consult an astrologer while choosing this date!)

This full Moon like mother bird wants us to spread our wings and fly. This may of course involve pushing us out of the proverbial nest! It can bring up intense feelings especially around fears that prevent us from soaring into our greatness. This can be a free-flight full Moon where we take off in blazing intensity – like the phoenix the ancient symbol of Scorpio. Or it can do the opposite – ground us and clip our wings because we are too afraid to find out if we can fly. Sometimes we simply need to push ourselves off the edge – and soar. 

ARIES

You’re coming out of a strange and murky eclipse, Aries. One that has probably had you probing the shadows already. And looking at hidden elements concerning how sexy/creative/alive you feel. Or even where there are subtle or even not-so-subtle, themes around control in one particular connection. 

Remember, one name for this full Moon is the ‘Bright’ Moon. So, those feelings of being ‘in the dark’ or lack of self-confidence, and the reasons for them, are illuminated under this full Moon. It shines a light of searing clarity on an issue. And also if someone has made you doubt your own feelings, shows you how right you were all along.

Hidden dynamics or themes in a key relationship are about to emerge. If not on the night of this full Moon, then between it and the new Moon in your sign on the 19th. You are one of the signs who will get the most from bathing in the light of this full Moon. 

This can just as easily be an emerging relationship as it can be an existing one. Be on high alert, Taurus! Especially if something lasting is what you seek. This Moon wants us to own our feelings and be upfront with others. And if someone asks us if there is something wrong, that we respond with the truth rather than saying ‘Nothing!’.

It’s important we don’t compare our story or trajectory to that of others under this full Moon. Seeing ourselves as more or less successful than anyone else is counter-productive either way. And also, we need to steer clear of defining ourselves by a title. Be this CEO, Mr or Mrs. We are more than that.

Know if you have not achieved what you have set out to do – yet, this full Moon reconnects you to the power to make it happen. Heed the call to adventure and take up the quest, Pisces! Something is tugging you towards a larger experience. Opportunity or a solution beckons or could be on offer between now and the next new Moon. 

Off the couch, Pisces. Ditch the boxset. And the day dreams. This is your opportunity to live something for real. Not vicariously through others. Of course this means prising yourself out of your comfort zone. Nothing new happens there anyway. It’s just re-runs as opposed to the exciting, heart-starting new chapter that this full Moon promises.

What can you initiate or begin now which is the first step on a much larger journey – either real or metaphorical? However, watch for wanting to just run away or escape. No, the grass isn’t greener elsewhere. It is time to open yourself up to the possibilities that something bigger awaits you ‘out there’. New Moon in Aries Moonscope – 2 of 2: Hybrid Solar Eclipse April 20, 2023

I see a black Moon rising! The term ‘Black’ moon has nothing to do with the fact that this new Moon brings with it one of the most complex eclipses we have seen in decades. It refers to the second of two new Moons in an astrological sign in a month. The first new Moon in Aries appeared at 0 degrees on March 21. This new Moon is at 29 degrees. Both therefore are extremely powerful being at an ‘anaretic’ degree.

This black new Moon triggers a Hybrid Solar Eclipse. Hybrid Eclipses – which combine all three eclipse types – partial, annular and total, are extremely rare. Even rarer – we have not seen one in Aries for 159 years! This represents a massive new beginning especially for the Cardinal Signs or those with Cardinal factors. Do check your charts for any at 29 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Within a 1 degree orb.

We know eclipses represent the hidden. Cover ups. Total eclipses and we are utterly in the dark. We will see this eclipse as being one of the three eclipse variants depending on where we are. So, the extent of the cover-up depends entirely on our perspective. As the Moon moves through Aries hours prior to triggering the eclipse it encounters Jupiter. What does this tell us? That the cover-up is a massive one. It’s all a bit X-Files. Mulder was right. Just remember, rather than being told something is written in stone, our perspective can be changed. Don’t accept anything on face value. 

ARIES

Know Thyself was inscribed in ancient times above the entrance to the Oracle of Delphi. There are many variants on this message. To quote a line from Hamlet: To thine own self be true. The truth for you under this eclipse isn’t actually ‘out there’. But within you. Are you being true to yourself? Acting in a way which reinforces this? Coming from a place of authenticity? Or does something simply jibe within you, Aries?

You instinctively know what is right and what actions you should take. No matter what you may be told to the contrary, that is the truth about you. So, knowing this, the eclipse asks you muster your integrity and do the right thing. By you. Yes, there is and should be an element of watch and wait which you should not ignore under this eclipse. Between now and the full Moon on May 5, you need to gather what emerges from the shadows and see how that impacts the bigger picture. But ultimately, come from a place of knowing who you are and what simply is the right action to take based on that. You don’t need to hide from your own truth, Aries.

TAURUS

An eclipse in your house of hidden truths and secrets is extra powerful, Taurus. It is about what you really don’t want to see, deny, or have been totally ignoring. It marks both the end and a new beginning for you. That new beginning is coming next month. For now however, that cover up may be around something that is well and truly over for you. But you have simply not acknowledged that yet. Time to leave an aspect of your old life behind you.

We can only ignore the elephant in the room for so long. And the problem with the elephant is that it just blocks our exit. We can’t move past it because it is taking up all the space and trapping us in the room with it. And depending on how long you have been ignoring it, that elephant could now be the size of a woolly mammoth. Now, chances are as you read this you know exactly what I am talking about. Where something has to be cleared out so you can move ahead towards the new and the fresh. No more elephants. Yes, Taurus, I know you love stability and things staying the same. Wishful thinking won’t cut it under this Hybrid eclipse, Gemini. Yes, you have Fat Fairy Godplanet Jupiter in your 11th along with this eclipse. But wishing on stars and hoping won’t cut it. There’s a hidden path to your goals you may have overlooked. One your inner compass wants to reveal to you. And please, keep those goals and wishes close. Especially if you know people are likely to discourage you.

One particular friendship or even group may jump to mind under this eclipse. Is it all it appears to be? Does someone need you to spend time with them? Is there more going on than meets the eye? A friend could be struggling despite their Instagram feed saying otherwise. Go by your gut. If a name or more than one name has jumped to mind, do hold on to that thought. Either you need to invest more of yourself. Or you have been reluctant to admit the resonance you once felt is no longer there. Eclipses are always very big deals for you as just like next door sign of Leo, they involve your ruler. Even more so when the eclipse occurs in a Cardinal sign like this one. Because it will square any Cancer factors you have within a 1 degree orb of 29 degrees. Do check your chart.

It occurs in your status-setting 10th. Square peg in a round hole? Isn’t it time you acknowledged that? This eclipse poses the question about just what constitutes success for you. You may feel as if someone threw the main power switch and plunged you into darkness when earlier everything looked bright and clear. And obvious. You become unsure of your next move. You’re in a dark room trying to find a box with a black cat in it that may or may not be there at all. Yes, it really is a Schroedinger of an eclipse for you as it combines all three eclipse types. If you are travelling under this eclipse, you need to act as if this was the most intense retrograde you have ever experienced. Plans B thru Z need to be in place. Disinformation is all around you. The good news? Actually there is some even if it is hidden. What’s occurring in the darkness is a new opportunity or freedom from something that has held you back. This eclipse will turn out to be your passport to a bolder, braver more intensely satisfying new world. For now, feel your way through it. And don’t take that big step unless it is clearly illuminated. 

VIRGO

Just where are the boundaries, Virgo? Are they strong and in place? Or have you allowed others to cross that invisible line? 

Tap into that inner strength under this eclipse. It tells you that lines may have been crossed. And you may have allowed this to happen out of a fear of losing something or someone. The fact is, respect is a key ingredient of true love. It begins with us respecting ourselves so we don’t allow ourselves to be taken advantage of. Yes, a new one may be waiting in the wings. But if they emerge now you need to go very slowly indeed. If your relationship is on rocky ground, as the shadows clear you will see the bare-faced truth around love or the lack of it.

This isn’t the eclipse under which to splurge. Finances need protection and a loving eye cast on them. There’s no getting away with an attitude that says you don’t care too much for money. Because then money won’t care much about you either. This eclipse tells you that like your self-worth, you need to value what you have. Irrespective of how little or how much that is.

If anyone is undermining your worth, then you’ll see this between now and the full Moon. And be asked to respond accordingly. This may be more subtle than you realise.
