Tuesday Troubles…

You may have noticed that everything has gone a bit pear shaped today, folks. Well, I think it happened yesterday when I wasn’t looking. I decided to cancel the plan we were on because we couldn’t afford it anymore. This was easily done, and I assumed we would return to the plan we were on … Continue reading Tuesday Troubles…

The End of a Busy Week…

Every chance of enjoying a quiet rainy day to end my busy week has just been ruined by two Water Board lorries turning outside to start digging up the road just as I was enjoying the sound of the rain on my window sill!

To forget my troubles, I have been busy catching up on all those outstanding jobs around the house and garden, and I have been squeezing in some never-before-attempted writerly pursuits, too. There is nothing quite like a challenge to find who is in charge…

Having written six novels, I haven’t yet summoned the courage to advertise them properly. Of course, I promote them in various ways, but I always thought proper advertising was beyond my feeble brain.

Until recently…

It’s always fatal when I ask myself, “How hard can it be?” I mean, other people do it all the time. And if I make a pig’s ear out of it, no one will know, will they?

So, in between all those other jobs, I have been learning all about advertising with two free courses on the subject: one from Kindlepreneur.com and the other on Udemy.com.

Initially, this was not my idea of fun, and I always said I wouldn’t bother with anything I didn’t enjoy doing. This is a bit like when I tried to teach myself how to use Scrivener, and you don’t want to know how many times I abandoned that one!

Although we are extremely proud of our achievements, we seem to be stuck just this side of successful, and desperate to know if our books could do better.

Advertising looks pretty complicated, at least to this bear with a small brain, but I think it might just be doable…

Any helpful suggestions about this would be most welcome, guys…

Not a good day today, unless you’re a duck! It is raining and will continue for three days.

Luckily, I managed to paint more of that wall and another set of shelves yesterday. Then, after hearing about the oncoming rain, I actually whizzed the lawn mower round the garden, much to my delight.

I’m not sure where I am getting all this energy from, but it is most welcome.

Just in case you might be thinking I have abandoned all my writing pursuits, I have a post in my head about a secret endeavour I have been working on, and will be posting it tomorrow, God willing…

what have I been up to?
