C.K. Thomas writes the Arrowstar series of novels featuring adventurous women of the American Southwest. Arrowstar, Charade, and The Storm Women are the first three books in the series. Originally from Kokomo, Indiana, she has lived in Arizona for over 30 years. Her three grown children and six grandchildren live near Seattle, Washington.

Cheryl has traveled extensively in Arizona and the Southwest by both 4-wheel drive truck and Harley Davidson motorcycle. She also spent three years traveling solo in a 26-foot motor home exploring the back roads of America before resettling in Phoenix. She enjoys living in the Arizona desert with her husband and two long-haired Chihuahuas and spending time on their ranch near Willcox, Arizona.

The book is written by Karen Blixen using the pen name Isak Dinesen. Even though they are not fictional characters, it's easy to get lost in the story as if it were a novel that Blixen weaves about her experiences in Africa as a young woman. It reads more like historical fiction than autobiography. The movie furthers the feeling of fiction in its adaptation as a screenplay.

In the Arrowstar Series I wrote, my favorite couple in third book, The Storm Women would have to be Margaretta and her Civil War soldier husband, Jacob. Their love seems more genuine than any of the other couples in that novel. (less)

I enjoy the research involved in putting a book together, and I enjoy the relationship I build with my characters who seem to come alive as I write. It's thrilling to see all four of my books in paperback and sitting alongside my favorite author's books on my bookshelf. I can't tell you how gratifying a feeling that gives me. Best of all is hearing from readers and knowing I've given them some enjoyment through what I've written. I hope I hear from you!(less)
