Poem - The Bum Deal
Rather than post in the poetry competition I decided to just share some work with all my friends.
For that post Christmas over-indulgence feeling
THE BUM DEAL - Rita Ames
As debuted on The Funky Writer show - episode 176
Now I know you might be wondering
If this is all about my bum
And if I’ve done a deal
To get a smaller one
And if so, am I willing
To share that deal with you?
But then, what fun in that
If you were skinny too
My eyes glaze over as I dream
Of a waist of two hand spans
A slinky dress above the knee,
heels higher than two tin cans
A splash of red upon my lips
Can finish off this look
All eyes will light upon my hips
Wondering, what pill was it she took?
The truth is bleak as winter snow
The real bum deal is this
Your man should love you as you are
And seal it with a kiss
So with a very knowing wink
I’ll leave you all to guess
How big I was before
I squeezed into this dress!

The Search for a Clone
I am sure I am not the only Author that wishes there were an army of ME!!
As an indie author I am finding that all the marketing, tweeting, reading, reviewing and let's not forget the all important writing leaves no time for anything else!
If anyone knows a great scientist with a cloning machine please pass on my details as I sorely need a few more of me. Then I can spend all my time with my beloved stories and let the clones do the admin.

200 BOOKS IN 2015 CHALLENGE UPDATE
Ok. So I am ahead on my target to read 200 books this year. However, I just downloaded D.E.V.A by Aaron Gritsch. It looks an amazing read but at 979 pages this will take more than the average time to read. My dilema - can I count this as two books maybe?
I suppose I should just see if I reach the target by end of year. However!!!! if I get to 199 - you bet I will be counting it as two!!!

GOODREADS CHALLENGE 200 BOOKS IN 2015
Yep, I can't believe I set myself this target. It is now a matter of pride that I get it done. 125 books read so far and 12 ahead of target so looks like I might just crack this nut.
Trying to balance the smaller,shorts reads with the occasional series in one so I can honestly say it is a solid attempt.
Okay, I admit I am a great speed reader so I probably have a slight edge.
Send me your positivity and support as I will probably flag near the end.

MIND BLANK
I do nothing but write, stories and poetry, I love nothing better and rarely get stuck for an idea or inspiration.
My Son is getting married!! and they have asked me 'The Mother of the Groom' to write and read out a suitable poem during their ceremony.
Guess what, now I get writers block. It must be the pressure of the fact that I will have to stand there in front of everyone and read out something of my own.
Yikes! Countdown to disaster 5 months... maybe I could test out anything I come up with on here and see what comments I get!

Brain Pain
A peotic name for that special moment when an idea just has to burst forth and you find yourself looking at Page 1. From there on in it is one big roller coaster ride.
'If I can imagine the death of reality then I can imagine a whole new world of possibilities' said by me in a moment of inspiration - I just wish I could type a lot faster and get them all down.
Brain pain, eye strain
Must I really re-write again?
Edit, edit, give me credit
Move it, shake it and spell check it
Change the format and the font
You know its what the ebooks want
At last a sale and money paid
Celebrate, a beer and maybe get laid?
Back to work, a new blank page
