Cookies
I must say the size of a pixie's sweet tooth is astounding, especially for cookies. Merrihaven does not have such delectable morsels of sugary goodness. So, to be fair, can you really blame them? Just beyond the Downs is the village baker and a very good one at that. The smells emanating from his shop are hard to resist. Every day they waft through the Downs, across hill and dale and into the tiny nostrils of each and every pixie around Merrihaven.
Okay, not really. Everyone knows that pixies are curious, sometimes naughty, creatures. One day, they were feeling very adventurous and decided to explore farther than they should have. Instead turning left towards Dunmere, they zoomed through the Downs to the other side.....right through the backdoor of the baker's shop. Luckily, he was bringing in the milk order for the day and didn't notice the colorful streams of magic that zipped by him.
The pixies stopped mid-flight and what do you think happened? They only ever knew the sweetness of honey, but now they were in some sort of sugary heaven. What do you think they did? Well, I'll tell you what those naughty little creatures did. They dove head first into cinnamon buns, burrowed into chocolate eclairs and swam in large bowls of frosting. By the time they had their fill, the pixies could barely fly. They swerved and bobbed their way back into the Downs as though they had spent their morning in a vat of bog ale. When the baker stepped into his shop he couldn't believe his eyes. There was nothing left untouched. Remnants of the pixies' magic hung in the air long enough for the baker to figure out what had happened. He was a good-hearted man with a great sense of humor, but there was alot of work to do (again), so he rolled up his sleeves and gathered the ingredients needed to make more goodies.
From then on, he made sure to keep the backdoor closed at all times, but left a plate of chocolate chip cookies on a stump behind his shop for the little visitors.

Kathy Cyr- Author
Kathy Cyr writes in an underground cave, but has her eye on a wizard's castle.
On an average day, she's usually surrounded by a dwarf with a curious addiction to coffee, a moody dragon and a pink pixie Kathy Cyr writes in an underground cave, but has her eye on a wizard's castle.
On an average day, she's usually surrounded by a dwarf with a curious addiction to coffee, a moody dragon and a pink pixie with a large sweet tooth.
When not writing books, she can be found daydreaming about faraway places, enjoying a cup of coffee with the dwarf, sharing a laugh with the moody dragon (when he's in the mood) and sitting on a rainbow of treats with the pink pixie.
