Don't Let the Name Fool You--He's No Angel: Meet Christian
This is a series introducing the characters in the upcoming The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation, which you can pre-order here. The book will be released February 28th!
Cadence Findley has recently discovered that she is a Vampire Hunter. Along with this information, she has been introduced to an entire world she never new existed before, one that includes Vampires, Vampire Hunters, and Guardians, the mysterious, black-clad figures who help protect the Vampire Hunters as they terminate the bloodsuckers. Cadence's world has been turned upside down in the matter of a few days and she often finds herself confused and overwhelmed. In one particular instance, she makes a series of very bad decisions that almost costs her everything. When Guardian Leader Aaron chastises her for disobeying protocol and sends her away, he doesn't realize he's also sending her right into the arms of another man--Christian, the Guardian tech guy.
With such an angelic face, how could Christian ever do anything wrong?
Ever since Christian implanted a tiny computer in Cadence's eye (allowing her to communicate with the team), he's had his eyes on her. When Cadence gets herself in trouble, not only does Christian stand up for her, he's also there to console her when she has no one else to turn to.
Are his intentions genuine or is he just in it for the moment?
Will Cadence's encounter with Christian cost her a chance to ever be with Aaron?
Tomorrow, meet Henry, the child-killing Vampire who almost costs Cadence everything.

Every Good Book Needs Some Comic Relief: Meet Jon
This is the next installment in a series of posts introducing the characters in the upcoming The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation. You can pre-order your copy here.
In every book, no matter how serious the topic, there has to be someone to crack the jokes and insert the punchlines. In Clandestine, that character is often Jon. Despite the weighty information Cadence Findley has just received--that her friend has been killed by a Vampire, and she happens to be a Vampire Hunter--Jon finds a way to lighten the mood and bring some chuckles. If this book was a show, and that show was Friends, Jon would be the Chandler Bing
Jon tends to think everything is funny--except for maybe Vampires.
Jon is one of Cadence's friends from high school. He attends the Eidolon Festival with the rest of the gang and takes care of Sidney and Taylor when things get ugly. Though Jon does not play a pivotal role, he is there when he is needed. Perhaps we will find out more about Jon in the books to come.
Tomorrow, we meet Kash, Cadence's other friend and Drew's ex-boyfriend. How does it feel to stumble upon your ex-girlfriend dead in the woods with fang marks in her neck? Unfortunately, Kash knows the answer to that question.

She'll Haunt Your Dreams: Meet Holland, Ancient Vampire Queen
This is the ninth installment in a series introducing the characters of The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation, which you can preorder here. Release date is February 28th, 2015
Vampires aren't real....Unless they are.... and in the case of the ancient Vampire Queen, Holland, well, she seems to be pretty real to Cadence Findley.
Holland, Evil Vampire Queen
It was a chance encounter at an Eidolon Festival that first brought the two together. When Holland's lover Carter became smitten with Cadence's friend Drew and dragged her off into the woods for...dinner, Cadence and her Guardians became a little too testy. Then, when Cadence decided Carter needed to pay, her actions enraged Holland. And now there's hell to pay.
Holland becomes hell bent on tracking Cadence Findley down and destroying her!
There's only one problem; Cadence is protected by a force of Guardians. If Holland is going to successfully take out the new Vampire Hunter, she will have to amass an army of Vampires. Luckily, hundreds of years of creating vampirlings had left Holland with a very large clan, all ready to follow her every order to the end.
Who will be victorious when Holland and Cadence meet at last?
When Holland and Cadence finally face each other across the battlefield, only one will walk away victorious. And Holland will do whatever it takes to make sure Cadence never kills again.

Cadence's BFF: Meet Taylor
This is the eighth installment where I introduce the characters in The Clandestine Saga Book 1:Transformation, available for pre-order here.
Taylor--Cadence's best friend from high school.
Today, we meet Taylor, one of Cadence's friends from high school. Taylor is definitely doubtful when friend Drew suggests they all go to the Eidolon Festival. When Drew goes missing, Taylor really loses it and has to be escorted away from the action. However, when Cadence needs her friend most, she knows she can count on reliable Taylor.
When Cadence is away from home, secretly fighting Vampires, Taylor is the voice on the line that keeps her aware of how things are going back at home--especially when Cadence's ex-boyfriend Jack gets really sick. Taylor's the kind of friend who will stick with you through thick and thin and definitely the kind of person one needs on their side when they are busy fighting Vampires.
Read more about Taylor and the rest of the gang in The Clandestine Saga Book 1:Transformation. Tomorrow, we meet the antagonist of Book 1, the ancient Vampire Holland.

That's What Friends Are For: Meet Sidney
This is the sixth installment in a series introducing the characters in the upcoming The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation.
Sidney is one of Cadence Findley's best friends. The girls have done practically everything together since grade school, until it came time for college, and they chose separate campuses. Sidney is very excited to see Cadence over Thanksgiving break and hopes to spend as much time with her as possible.
Sidney, one of Cadence's best friends. She has no idea who Cadence really is.
When the rest of the group starts discussing the possibility of attending an Eidolon Festival (a celebration of ghosts, goblins, and ghouls) Sidney wants no part of it. However, when the rest of her friends decide to go, she begrudgingly gives in.
The friends aren't at the festival long when things take a turn for the worse. When their friend Drew goes missing, Sidney and Taylor panic, and Cadence insists that John escort the girls back to the car while she and the other two male members of the group, Kash and Jack, search for Drew. The last thing Sidney remembers from that night is a feeling of overwhelming dread that they are being chased by something terrifying. When she awakes the next morning, her memories are different. She remembers going rock climbing with her friends where something awful happened to Drew. Though she is upset about the tragedy, she has accepted that these things happen and is determined to go on with her life.
But now Cadence is gone, moved to Kansas City as part of some security team, and her circle of friends is crumbling. Sidney clings to Taylor for emotional support as she attempts to stabilize her ever-shrinking circle of friends. Will all of these changes result in the demise of her friendship with Cadence or will they find a way to fight it out through thick and thin?
Find out in The Clandestine Saga Book 1:Transformation coming Feb. 28th and pre-order here! In the next installment, we'll meet Jamie, the misunderstood Guardian.

Hello, Mr. Nice Guy: Meet Jamie, Guardian Healer
This is the seventh installment in a series introducing the characters from the upcoming The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation.
In his former life, Jamie was a highly accomplished surgeon. His skills have served him well now that he has undergone the transformation process and become a Guardian. Now, he serves the LIGHTS team as a Healer. When someone is injured, sick, or in pain, one touch from Jamie and they instantly begin to heal. Luckily for him, he is also able to heal himself.
Jamie is a Healer but even he can't heal a broken heart.
We first meet Jamie when everything goes down at the Eidolon Festival. Holland and her Vampire legion are attacking and Jamie is part of the team that whisks Cadence and her friends away. In fact, Jamie is assigned the task of getting Cadence to safety. As she emerges from the woods, he pulls along beside her on a black motorcycle. Though she is hesitant at first, Jamie's disposition makes it obvious even in these trying times that he is one of the good guys and Cadence quickly hops aboard.
Jamie follows Cadence and Eliza to the safe house where Cadence is faced with the decision of whether or not to transform into a Vampire Hunter. When she has made her decision to go through the process, it is Jamie who is charged with carrying out the medical procedure designed to make it virtually painless and much quicker than the way it has been done for centuries. Except, Cadence is an enigma and something goes terribly wrong. When Cadence reacts differently to the injections Jamie gives her, it is up to him to save her.
Jamie is Mr. Nice Guy. It becomes apparent early on that he is developing feelings for Cadence, completely oblivious to what is going on between Cadence and Aaron. He finds out the hard way that sometimes love stinks.
Without Jamie, the team would not be able to take the risks it does. Aaron gives orders knowing, if someone gets hurt, Jamie can probably save them--most of the time. Jamie is an extremely important part of the team and one of the most intriguing of the supporting characters that make The Clandestine Saga a layered story.
In the end, when things go sideways in the final showdown, it is up to Jamie to find a way to right the wrongs. Will Mr. Nice Guy pull through or will it end in tragedy?
