She's the Strong Silent Time: Meet Camille, Vampire Hunter

This is a series introducing the characters in the upcoming The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation, which debuts February 28th. Pre-order your copy here today!

Camille doesn't say much.  As a Vampire Hunter, she knows how to slay bloodsuckers, so she'll get her point across when she needs to. But, as for idle chit-chat, no thank you.
Camille used to work with a partner until a Rogue Vampire named Henry interjected himself into her life, taking out her partner and leaving her all alone. She worked by herself for decades until she met two other Hunters with similar stories. Sam had lost a brother, Finn had lost a love--all to the same monster, Henry.
Don't let that sweet face fool you--she'll take you down.
Camille has joined forces with Sam, and Finn and they will stop at nothing when it comes to tracking down Henry and making him pay.
They finally get the chance they are looking for. On a cooperative mission with the LIGHTS team (an organization that trains Vampire Hunters and Guardians) they finally have Henry cornered when something goes terribly wrong. When a new Vampire Hunter, Cadence Findley, interferes and takes it upon herself to track down Henry, the plan is set awry. Now, Cadence Findley will pay the ultimate price for her bad judgement, if it's the last thing Camille does.
But, as in all things, Camille will take her time, stalk her prey, and strike when it is least expected.

To read more about Cadence's interaction with Camille and her partners, read The Clandestine Saga Book 1 Transformation.  Tomorrow, we meet Meaghan a new Vampire Hunter who helps Cadence out when she needs it most.

Peace, Love, and Death to Vampires: Meet Finn

This is a series introducing the characters in the upcoming The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation, which launches on February 28th. You can preorder your copy here.

Finn is a free-loving hippie, whose mantra is "Peace-out," unless he's killing Vampires and then that whole thing goes out the window. He is not part of the LIGHTS team, the main forces that battle against the bloodsucking evil ones. Rather, Finn operates independently. However, he has chosen to work alongside two other Vampire Hunters on a certain project: finding and killing a Rogue Vampire by the name of Henry. The other two Vampire Hunters, Sam and Camille, all have one thing in common with Finn: they each hold Henry responsible for the death of a loved one.
But they don't just want to kill Henry, they want to make him pay first.
Don't let that peaceful attitude fool you--he's all Vampire Hunter.
Unfortunately, a new Vampire Hunter by the name of Cadence Findley interferes with their plans and that becomes a huge problem for Finn.
Now, it isn't just about exacting revenge against Henry, Cadence needs to pay for her transgressions as well. For that matter, so does the entire LIGHTS team.  But Finn and his friends are not about to make any hasty moves. They will bide their time and let Cadence begin to feel comfortable. Then, when she least expects it, they will make their move.

Find out what it is that has Finn so hot around the collar in The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation. Tomorrow, we meet Camille, the last of the independent Vampire Hunters featured in book 1.

This Cowboy Ain't All Hat: Meet Same, Vampire Hunter

This is another installment introducing the characters in The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation, which is available for pre-order here.  The release date is February 28th!

On the night of Cadence Findley's very first observational Vampire hunt, something goes terribly wrong.
The Rogue Vampire the LIGHTS team is attempting to capture gets away. Even though Cadence is merely supposed to watch how the team operates,  her instincts kick in and she begins to give chase.
Despite the fact that the Guardian Leader demands that Cadence stand down, Cadence doesn't back off. But he's not the only one who loses it over Cadence's actions.  So does Sam, an independent contractor Vampire Hunter whose primary objective is to capture this particular Rogue Vampire alive. And Cadence just got in the way of that happening.
When it comes to killing Vampires, Sam doesn't mess around.
Sam has been a loner for centuries. Recently, he joined up with two other loners, Finn and Camille, because the three of them had one objective in common: Capture and torture the Rogue Vampire Henry. You see, Henry killed Sam's brother and he isn't one to forget about something like that.
But now that Cadence Findley has gotten in the way and ruined Sam's plan, someone else is going to have to pay for Henry's transgressions. And it might as well be this lil' young lady who just got in the way.
Sam isn't one to act rationally, however. He and his friends disappear into the night, content to bide their time. But when the iron is hot, he will strike.

Read more about Cadence and the LIGHTS team in The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation.
Tomorrow, meet Finn, Sam's right hand man.

Only the Good Die Young: Meet Jordan

This is a series introducing the characters in The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation, which will be released on Feb. 28th. Pre-order your copy here today!

For the first 19 years of her life, Cadence Findley believes that her Grandpa Jordan was killed in a plane crash years before she was born.
But that's a lie.
He was killed by a Vampire Hunter.
But, Grandpa Jordan was not a Vampire.
He was the leader of a team who's only purpose is to protect Vampire Hunters from the Vampires they track down and destroy. Jordan was known as the Guardian Leader and his untimely death was a tragedy for Guardians and Vampire Hunters alike--well, every one of them except for the Vampire Hunter who took Jordan's life.
Grandpa Jordan, Guardian Leader, Cut-Down in His Prime
Finding out the true identity of her late-grandfather at the same time that Cadence finds out who she truly is as well, is enough to leave her head spinning, With the help of the team her grandfather wants led, Cadence will discover all that she is capable of.  Perhaps, with the help of the new Guardian Leader, Aaron, one day Cadence may even avenge her grandfather's death.
But first, she must track down the evil Vampire Queen she holds responsible for the death of her best friend. So many Vampires to destroy, so little time....

Tomorrow we will meet Sam. He's a cowboy. He's a Vampire Hunter. He's pissed. Find out why in The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation.

She's One Tough Granny: Meet Janette

This is a series of posts introducing the characters in the upcoming The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation.  It will be available on February 28th.  Preorder your copy here!

Finding out that you're a Vampire Hunter can be a bit unsettling.  What was even more shocking for Cadence Findley was finding out that the Hunter Leader (the leader of all of the Vampire Hunters in the world) is your grandma!  (Well, at least it was until recently when she retired.)
When Cadence is hastened away during the night to a safe house where she is told she will learn all of the secrets about the Clandestine Ternion (Vampires, Hunters, and Guardians) she is shocked to find that it is actually her sweet Granny Janette who is charged with describing the secret world of Vampire killers and bloodsucking monsters.
Grandma Janette has more than knitting needles up her sleeve.
Janette explains how her husband, Jordan, was once the Guardian Leader, before he was murdered by someone the team should have been able to trust.  Once Jordan was gone, Janette decided to no longer lead the Hunters, choosing instead to help the LIGHTS team from a safer distance. Now that Cadence has learned her true identity, Janette is able to enlighten her about many family secrets, including her true identity, her actual age, and the fact that her grandfather's death was no accident.
Janette discloses one more thing:  The Hunter Leader and the Guardian Leader almost always end up together.  Since Cadence has recently met the Guardian Leader, Aaron, and is a good candidate for becoming the next Hunter Leader herself, this is pertinent information. It might be more welcomed, however, if she hadn't recently described Aaron as "creepy." Perhaps, as Cadence gets to know the aloof leader a bit better (and gets to know herself!) she will change her opinion.
Janette is every bit the sweet old lady, except for the fact that she used to wield and axe, which she used to remove the heads of the undead....Learn what other secrets our little old woman reveals when you read The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation.

Tomorrow, find out more about Cadence's grandfather, Jordan, the leader of the Guardians before Aaron.

Her Name Says it All: Meet Stormy

This is a series of installments introducing the characters in the upcoming The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation, which will be released February 28th.  You can pre-order your copy here for $2.99 or free for Kindle Unlimited.

When you've got an angry Vampire Queen on your hands, amassing a plethora of Rogue Vampires, ready to take your entire team down, who do you call? Stormy, of course. She's not part of the LIGHTS team. She operates as an independent contractor. That's probably because she doesn't get along with anyone. But, in the middle of a battlefield, rest assured, she brings new meaning to the term "Vampire slayer."
Stormy is no ray of sunshine, but she gets the job done.
When the LIGHTS team locates Holland, the ancient Vampire Queen, they call in Stormy to work with them to bring her down.  From the very beginning, Cadence gives Stormy the benefit of the doubt, even agreeing to share a hotel room with her. Things go downhill when Stormy locks Cadence out of their room and later proceeds to polish her loaded guns right in front of her with every bit of nonchalance.
Stormy isn't a team player--she's in it for the kill. But, she is very good at what she does. And as soon as her job is completed, she's right back out on her own, disappearing over the horizon--like a storm cloud....

Tomorrow, we'll meet the three French Vampire Hunters who help track down Holland: Genevieve, Sabine, and Chantal.

Rule #1--Never Trust a Vampire: Meet Sebastian, Turncoat

This is a series introducing the characters in the upcoming The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation, premiering February 28th!  Preorder your copy here for just $2.99!  Book 2: Resurrection will be out this summer.

Razor sharp teeth, reflexes untraceable by the human eye, claws sharper than a velociraptor...what's not to trust?
Look at those fangs....Seems harmless enough.
When the LIGHTS team needs help tracking down the Vampire Queen, Holland, they turn to an informant, Sebastian. He's quick to talk--perhaps too quick. With Sebastian's help,  the team is able to track Holland down.  When Holland shows up at the location Sebastian has indicated, everything seems like it is going down as planned.... Unless it's a trap.

Would you trust a Vampire who says he's willing to turn on his own mother?

Find out if Sebastian is trustworthy in The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation. Tomorrow, we'll meet a Guardian whose name says it all, Stormy.

5 Simple Ways to Help Out Your Writer Friend

Do you suffer to Listentoanauthoritosis? Does a friend or family member go on and on about how excited he or she is about a recently published book?  Do you sometimes want to throw your smart phone against the wall because you are tired of seeing cover options clogging up your newsfeed? It sounds to me like your author friend needs a hug--and by hug I mean your support--and by your support I mean money  encouragement (and social media blitzing if possible.) Here are five easy ways you can support your friend and help him or her achieve their book writing dreams.

1) Retweet! This is by far the easiest thing you can do to support your author friend (other than just saying, "Hey, way to go, author friend!") It takes about a half a second to retweet something and you will never see it again. Since the life span of a tweet is three seconds, chances are no one will be annoyed that you retweet for your friend fairly often because they won't see all of them. Hopefully, they will see one of them and buy your friend's book--and that just might make you a superhero.
Be a superhero and support your author friend!
2) Like/comment/share on Facebook. This is a little more demanding because you could potentially end up being the one clogging your other friends' newsfeeds.  But, it doesn't take much to like a post or leave a quick, encouraging comment. Did you know that the more like/comments/share's your friend's Facebook page gets, the higher it will climb in rankings, which will make it easier for other readers to find the page and potentially read one of your friend's books? It's true! Again, this is a huge help to author's so seriously interact on Facebook as much as you can. And, the next time you check to see who liked that 87th photo of what you had for dinner last night, you might realize your author friend is helping you out on Facebook, too. Interacting on FB makes you our BFF.
Best Friend Forever?  Go ahead, share that link!
3) Read their blog posts--and comment.  Many indie authors spend an overwhelming amount of time blogging (if you don't believe me  check out how many posts I have this month) in the hopes of grabbing the attention of readers. Again, the more interactions we have on our blogs, the better the chances we have of moving up in google search rankings and getting more attention. Clicking on blogs helps, but reading and commenting is even more helpful. And, sharing our blog posts on your social media (Twitter, Facebook, Google+) makes you a rock star!
Rock star? Blog star! Leave a comment!
4) Buy a book ( or two). If you haven't purchased one of your friend's books, please consider doing so. After all, chances are you can get one for less than a cup of Starbucks coffee and you can read it on anything. Yes, without a kindle, you can go download a Kindle published book and read it on any device through the Kindle Cloud Reader. That would mean your laptop, your iPad, your phone, whatever.  And when you buy a book, something magical happens. Graphs grow dots, lines go up, rankings go up, titles move up in search engine rankings and authors smile--a lot! It's not about the $1.50 you just put in my pocket; it's about the appreciation of knowing you care enough about me to buy my book. Even if you never read it, you suddenly just made your author friend's day. That makes you My Sunshine!
For the price of a cup of coffee, you can make it happen!
5) Write a review. Okay--I'm not going to tell you to go on Amazon and write a 5 star review of your friend's book if you hated it.  But if you saw some endearing qualities, let the world know!  (However, if you can find nothing good to say, don't break your loved one's heart by saying so publicly--mums the word.) When anyone posts a positive review about our work, it becomes very real that all of those hours we spent laboring over this work of art were not in vain. Someone read it--and they liked it! And that makes you the Queen or King of Everything!
Be Reviewer Royalty and help your author buddy out.
There are lots of ways that you can support your author friend and these are just a few of the simple ones. Who knows? Maybe that friend will write you into his next book as the best friend who saves the day!  And when she wins a major award or makes the best-seller list, she'll know who to thank!

Creepy Enough to Wake the Dead: Meet Henry

This is a series of posts introducing the characters in the upcoming The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation, to be released February 28th. You can preorder your copy here.

Cadence Findley has recently discovered that she isn't who she has always thought she was:
She's a Vampire Hunter.
On the first official hunt she participates in as a member of the LIGHTS team (the group of Vampire Hunters and Guardians charged with keeping the world safe from Vampires) she is surprised when the Vampire the team is pursuing suddenly makes an unexpected series of choices. Despite the fact that she is there to observe and not to participate, Cadence begins to pursue the Vampire. After all, this particular fiend is known for being a child-killer, and in Cadence's book, there's nothing worse than that.
Will Cadence be able to save Henry's tiny hostage?
The Vampire in question is a Rogue (a Vampire who does whatever he wants, including taking innocent lives) by the name of Henry.  He was created by Holland, the Vampire Queen who is hell bent on destroying Cadence.  When Henry sneaks into a new mother's apartment unexpectedly, Cadence follows him.  Henry takes a newborn baby girl as his hostage.  Will Cadence be able to save the child and destroy Henry? And what consequence will she pay for disobeying orders and pursuing Henry despite the fact that she was only meant to observe?

Read The Clandestine Saga Book 1: Transformation to find out. Tomorrow, we meet Sebastian, the Turncoat Vampire.  Is he a friend or a foe?
