Benson is a great character with lots of complexities. He’s a lot of fun to write, and there’s much more to him than being just an atypical ragey boss. I really like when the show writers let us see glimpses of his good heart and sensitive soul. A great example of this was his generosity and the emotional vulnerability he showed in ‘The End of Muscle Man’. I sincerely feel that Benson has a short temper because he’s been let down, lied to and made to feel stupid throughout his life, as is the case with many angry people.
