Artists' Living Working Space in the other Brookl(i)n: For Sale Cheap
Yes it's a project. But this wonderful building at the top of Center Harbor in Brooklin, Maine has been unsold for too long. Listed for $299k but it's been on the market a while. The Oddfellows Hall has great views of the prettiest harbor in Maine. Our friend Chris Baker had his studio in there for years. They poured a new foundation a couple of years ago and drains and septic are new. I have no interest in this building other than wanting to see it used and loved again: it's definitely the most striking building in town, and it deserves a tune-up and some imaginative new owners.

1955 Mercury M-350 and other one-ton pickups for sale

So don't be alarmed if I have to keep sending you pictures . I was driving around more this trip , with the luxury of time. There's a whole lotta nothing worth seeing. Most people are skeptics, but I find some little pockets that are stunning and I like the spare, half-empty vibe of so many of the towns .
Up in a little semi-former village of Gouldtown is a house with a row of shiny fixed up trucks, ranging from the late 40's to the late 50's . Mostly one-ton trucks with power take off dump truck beds in them. I met the guy, a retired mechanic who moved out from Nova Scotia to find a dry climate. He fixes these old trucks up and sells them... prices ranging from $2500 to &3500. Cheap like Borscht . He can't resist painting them . Gouldtown is north of the Trans Canada Hwy. just south of Lake Diefenbaker."AEps the green machine was already spoken for , sold at $ 3500

Summer Cars, part 3. 1965 Mustang convertible. Blue Hill, Maine
The thing about summer cars is they are mostly original, not restored or refined "collector cars" but retired family cars that are kept alive and in the family. They are stored in barns in winter and brought out for the summer back roads of Maine. I caught this one at the Co-Op in Blue Hill.
