1955 Jeep CJ-5
From Reid Cunningham: "A 1955 CJ-5. The Hurricane 4 cylinder (Willy's had the best names for their engines, the Go-Devil 4 was the earlier Jeep engine, later was the Super Hurricane and their 6 cylinders had names like Lightening and Tornado), has been swapped for a 304 V8. I like that someone kept the engine in the Willy's, Kaiser, AMC family instead of the ubiquitous Chevy small block. I am really not sure about that bug eyed look of some aftermarket grill. Is it because of the V8 taking so much space in the engine compartment?
AL: we've posted serval Jeeps; Here's an earlier CJ, in Missouri. And a Mitsubishi J-53. And another c. 1950 CJ. Then there's our piece on Brooks Stevens and the Jeep pickup.

Autoliterate Geography History
See a lot of Canadian flags in Maine these days. Many of our Canadian family--Mainiacs, going back to 1923--won't cross the border these days.

2000 Toyota Tacoma. Blue Hill, Maine.
You know how much we admire wheelbarrow trucks: deft, basic, utilitarian and most of all useful. This is great example of the genre, 4-speed manual and all. The owner told me the he calls the truck The Red Wheelbarrow.

1956 Ford F1 (diesel, he said). And...
From Michael Moore: "...summer remnants: a ’56 Ford [diesel he said] from my friend Greg Renfrow, in the Benicia (Calif.) Arsenal; Model A five-window, probably 1928 or so. C.1970 Chevrolet K-10, Alturas California, sans motor and probably not on its original frame, either... 1940 Studebaker flatbed, Walsenburg, CO. Circa 1990 F-250, in its natural habitat, Walsenburg.
We have posted a Model A Town Sedan in Maine, and a 1930 Model A truck in Cambridge.

1967 Ford F100 wheelbarrow truck
From Reid Cunningham in New Hampshire: "What is not to like about this nicely restored Ford stepside in Exeter NH? This looks to have been a base truck: painted grill and bumpers, bottle caps on painted steel wheels. The interior is plain black vinyl on a bench seat, basic dash and a floor shift manual. The simplicity and single exhaust make me think it could well have a basic but reliable straight 6 under the hood. I like that while someone took the time and money to do nice restoration, they let the truck stay simple. AL: yesterday's post on a 1967 Ford F-100 for sale.
