Tale of the Yellow Dragon by Brothers Without a Tomorrow

With the screech of rubber and a crunch of metal, Dojin departs the mortal world, leaving behind his beloved sister and niece. He awakens in the kingdom of Yooguk, where the people call him “emperor” and serve a god named Yellow Dragon. Dojin soon discovers that Yellow Dragon called him to Yooguk for a purpose: to share his “life force” and protect the kingdom. As Dojin slips deeper into Yellow Dragon’s cold embrace, how far will he go in order to get back home?

A manhwa from Brothers Without a Tomorrow is sort of an assurance of nice graphic and nice story, but the Tale of the Yellow Dragon has a bittersweet ending that I really didn't want. There were other ways to make the story consinstent; I'm not saying it's a bad ending, it's just thant it's a little sad, nothing tragic indeed, but I cannot avoid to simpatize with Dojin and his yearning for Yellow Dragon. Anyway, if you speak of fantasy, Tale of the Yellow Dragon is a good one, no too much dark, a little bit spicy, and for sure with very nice graphic.

Jackass! by Scarlet Beriko

Practical Keisuke’s incredibly handsome best friend Masayuki has always rubbed him just a little bit the wrong way. Maybe it’s because Masayuki is rich, carefree, and so stunningly handsome that he can, and does, have any girl he wants? But one day, when Keisuke accidentally wears his older sister’s panty hose to gym class, it’s suddenly his hot friend who’s doing the rubbing…on Keisuke’s panty hose-clad legs! Has he unwittingly unleashed a secret fetish that will change their relationship forever?
My Rate: 9 (amzn.to/3UwmSZI)
I really like the mangas of Scarlet Beriko, the graphic is top-notch and the story are original, sexy but not crass. In this case, it's about the fetish of Masayuki, who gets excite by the legs of Keisuke, but only if dressed in panty hose... I know the plot is somewhat stupid, but it's the way the author develops the story that is interesting. For example, Masayuki is aware that his fetish can create issues to Keisuke, and he searches to distance himself, to not being a bother to the other boy. Moreover, Masayuki doesn't mix sex with his fetish, being excited by Keisuke's legs doesn't mean he forces Keisuke, it's actually the opposite, it's Keisuke that wants something more deep with Masayuki. So yes, a little bit of a stupid plot, but a very nice development.

My Pet Bat by Jade

High school senior Min-kyum has been left to his own defenses after his parents kicked him out of their lives. His new house is in a shabby neighborhood, the site of several mysterious assaults that have left victims with bite marks on their necks and blood loss symptoms. After moving in, Min-kyum heads out for a meal…then somehow wakes up at home with strange marks on his neck. He tries to shrug it off, but his deskmate at the new school looks suspiciously pale and familiar…
My Rate: 8 (www.lezhinus.com/en/comic/mypetbat)
I have to admit that vampire stories are an hit and miss with me, they need to be particularly original for me to like them. My Pet Bat is a mix of cute and drama, but it never edges on tragedy, so that it makes the perfect blend for me. The graphic is nice, even if at first I found disconcerting that sometime the panels were not in full color, but that was something you get used soon and then you can appreciate the story. I liked that the vampires in this story are not invincible human beings and actually they can be pretty fragile. I also liked they are not the usual solitary character who focused on their own partner like there is nothing else around. Here the vampire is a high school student, with all the insecurity of an ordinary teenager boy. Of course the best character is Min-kyum and is heart, open and naive, despite all the trauma in his life. He is still able to accept love, even if he makes some mistakes while searching for it.

Royal Servant by MasterGin and Chungnyun

"I love you, Master." Born as a servant but falls in love with the man who hates servants.
My Rate: 8 (www.lezhinus.com/en/comic/royalservant)
Royal Servant has a very nice graphic, and also the storyplot is quite original, but there is something that made me crazy while reading it: it seemed like sometime the author decided to skip scenes, and we were reading about something without having being "prepared" to it. Like when Lucaon decided have sexual intercourse with Kyon, what was pushing him? what was the reason why he picked Kyon and not some other of his servants? this was probably the most ecclatant of all the events, but it happened also for smaller events thoughtout the story. Moreover the bittersweet ending was also something that made me sad. So nice story, nice graphic, but I don't think I will read it again.

I love so much Therapy Game that I have both the ebook than print edition. There is so much that I love, the graphic, the story, the sassyness of Minato, the sweetness of Shizuma... it's basically the perfect yaoi romance all wrapped up in a nice package. When I found these stories, my only regret is that they japanese manga are in black and white, cause I would love to see this story in full color. BTW this is also one of those yaoi manga where the sex is good and not too much, it's explicit in details, but it's so perfect for the story that I don't mind it at all.

The Red String of Fate by Akira Yoshio

Keiji has the special ability to see red strings of fate...threads that connect when two people are meant to spend the rest of their lives together. One day, he looks down at his hand and sees that his string has finally connected to someone!! But when Keiji finds the person on the other end, he realizes it's... a guy!!!
My Rate: 8 (www.ebookrenta.com/renta/sc/frm/item/140355/)
This was a sweet romance, the graphic was pretty nice and the story was sort of ordinary but nice. I like the character of Hiroki, so open on his feelings for Keiji, and so innocent and, yes, even weak. Keiji on the other hand is also overwhelmed by fate, finding himself binded to a man, when his unrequited crush is a woman. The fact that Hiroki is basically a perfect boyfriend doesn't matter, he is not interested in him. But then, little by little, Hiroki conquers Keiji without even trying, Hiroki is just clear and open, saying he is falling in love with Keiji. He doesn't plan anything strange, doesn't try to make Keiji changing his mind by force. As I said, he may seem weak, but indeed he is using the perfect strategy to conquer Hiroki.

My Rate: 9 (amzn.to/4m7M8BC)
On or Off is one of the first manhwa to be released in English out of a webtoon platform. The story is quite "ordinary", meaning there are no omegaverse, no vampire, no dragons... it's a pure and simple office romance, but in its simplicity it's quite entertaining. If you like office romance, and I do, this is quite a good example. It's actually a story that could be very well adapted to live action, something I would like to see. Speaking of the visual side of the story, the graphic is a little raw, but again I liked it, especially the profile of Kang Daehyung, those imposing nose makes him so sexy that I could understand why Yiyoung fell in love at first sight.

How to Snag an Alpha by Kimnyeong

Born into a family of handsome, wealthy, and well-educated alphas, Wooyoung always expected he would be the same. Come to find out, he was the odd man out as the lone omega, and not even a perfect one at that. To compensate, Wooyoung goes through life pretending to be a beta, but when he begins to experience hormone imbalances, irregular heat cycles, and a distinct lack of control over his impulses, his lowly recessive omega status becomes impossible to ignore. That’s when he meets Kyungju, a powerful and successful dominant alpha who can turn him into a true omega, and also makes him weak in the knees. Now, Wooyoung must use every tactic there is to court Kyungju and make the brooding alpha his very own.
My Rate: 8 (www.tappytoon.com/en/book/how-to-snag-alpha)
How to Snag an Alpha has everything I love in a romance: a cute character, unconditionally love, an alpha male who is big and bold, but not overwhelming of the omega, and a nice graphic, that sometime edges on cartoon like characters, but that is able to convey the comic moment in a perfect way. Because, yes, this is a romance, but it has also very nice comic moments, but not to the point of making this a silly story. On the contrary it has even its deep and dramatic moments, but again, not to the level of making it sad. In the end, it's a perfect mix of everything making a good romance.

Tribute by SOSO and Luvloo

Eunwoo is a yin from the small country of Hyun. After being looked down upon by his family, he’s offered as a tribute to the emperor. On his first day in the imperial walls, he succeeds in winning the emperor's favor. But life in the palace is hard for the naive Eunwoo...
My Rate: 7 (www.lezhinus.com/en/comic/tribute)
I usually don't like too much reading historical, but Tribute wasn't too long, just 30 episodes, and therefore I gave it a try. It's a nice, little story, not too dark like many other historicals, and it's actually quite cute. The emperor has a quirky side that makes him an attractive character, and I loved how he liked to tease the innocent Eunwoo, making him blush at every other word. There is some sadness, but it is soon forgotten since Eunwoo is indeed a good partner, and the love between the Emperor and his concubine is a strong bond.

Under the Moonlight by chada
As the formidable vampire lord, Ayla is more than capable of concocting whatever evil schemes he desires. But he would much rather spend his time gallivanting across the continent causing trouble for both demons and humans alike. Which is why even after he’s finally returned home after 17 years, he’s delighted to be greeted by a dark aggressive assassin out for his neck rather than peace and quiet. However, upon closer look, Ayla discovers something much more unexpected about this mystery man. The first is that he’s been hypnotized, and the second is…this man’s body is completely Ayla’s type!
My Rate: 8 (www.lezhinus.com/en/comic/under_moonlight)
It's pretty clear that this was supposed to be a longer manhwa, but for some reason the author stopped at only seven chapters. There is a lot still to be said, and it's a pity since the story was really funny and sexy. The graphic too was nice, and it was mixing two of my favorite thropes, vampires and comedy.
