Dr. Kenneth Wayne is a specialist in modern and contemporary art. He has been the Joan Whitney Payson Curator at the Portland Museum of Art in Maine, Curator of Modern Art at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York, and Deputy Director at The Noguchi Museum in New York.
Dr. Wayne also serves on the Advisory Board of the Musée Rodin in Paris.
He has organized dozens of exhibitions, including the acclaimed Modigliani and the Artists of Montparnasse, which traveled from the Albright-Knox Art Gallery to the Kimbell Art Museum in Ft. Worth and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Critic Jed Perl hailed it as "an unforgettable museum-going experience" and declared that the show's installation was "brilliant." An active lecturer, he has spoken internationally at such institutions as the Royal Academy of Art in London, the Henry Moore Centre in Leeds (England), the Art Gallery of Ontario (Canada), Il Museo di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rovereto (Italy), the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., and the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College.
Dr. Wayne has also written catalogue essays for the Royal Academy of Art, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid, Il Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara (Italy), Il Museo di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rovereto, Christie’s Paris, the Forum Gallery (New York) and the Gagosian Gallery (Paris). His extensive scholarship has been translated into French, German, Spanish and Italian.
