Red-eyed white rabbit at the Lorain County Fair, Saturday August 25

(This rabbit appears adorable and harmless, but when I was a kid, red-eyed rabbits disturbed me and in case you might want to read a disturbing poem about that matter, here is "White Is My Least Favorite Color", which was published in Rogue Agent a while back - http://www.rogueagentjournal.com/jcook/)

A new mini-review of Juliet Cook's seven year old poetry chapbook, "POST-STROKE"
A new mini-review of Juliet Cook's seven year old poetry chapbook, "POST-STROKE":" This diminutive collection of poems expresses the author's attempts to live with a health issue that greatly affected her life. The words she chooses to express herself are creative and piercing; abstract, yet clear in intention. Frustration, acceptance and dark humor fill the lines that tell the story between the lines. Most affecting for me is the author's attempt to rescue buried memories. Another moving collection from a verbal artist.."

Krampus Cramps
I'm a word-based person, have been for years, but in more recent years, I have difficulty with some basic words and one difficulty that especially bothers me is my issues with specific body part words.I felt like I was having a fairly productive evening until I got all upset, because I tried to describe something body-based and sounded like a dumb goofball.I used to use lots of specific body-based words in my past poems; now it's mostly just "body-based", "body parts" and semi-random blood drenched ephemera. (My mind might be exaggerating this, because I'm frustrated and PMS-infused.)I have trouble describing the parts of my own body, because I can't think of their specific names and that also makes doctor appointments difficult, because it's hard to specifically pinpoint where the issue is and what the issue is.One issue tonight is that my grossly bloated pre-menstrual, peri-menopausal stomach has momentarily tripled my upset and angry frustration with myself.I've had menstrual cramping going on for about 5 days now and haven't started bleeding yet, which is not my norm at all. Usually I have cramps a few hours before my period starts; not days before it starts.Maybe my bloated stomach is turning itself in to a blood drenched human pinata and the cramps are about to explode into a blood bath of morbid treats, flung all over the room.
