Juliet Cook's Blog, page 61

December 13, 2018

I'm not sure of this will make sense to anyone other than me...

which is why I'm posting it on my blog for my own reasons (for example, in case it elicits more thoughts/feelings/ideas later).

I'm not sure what this means exactly and I'm also not sure where this came from (although it might possibly partly derive from a long poem I've been working on, that has different aspects focused on different parts of my life).
I'm also not sure if anyone else's mind sometimes separates different time frames in their life to this extent, because mine usually doesn't. I mean I certainly have thoughts, feelings, ideas, and memories related to different parts of my life, but my mind doesn't usually feel compelled to divide that stuff into age-related time frames, as it did sometime late last night or early this morning.I was in bed and I can't remember if I was thinking while I was still awake or if I was alternating between being semi-awake and semi-asleep. My mind started separating different time frames of my adult life, in terms of different kinds of changes to my way of living/thinking/feeling/acting/being involved with others. I felt the need to temporarily turn my light on and write down the time frames, based on my ages during those time frames.18-2222-2828-3030-3637-4040-4343-now

Tentacular Splatter

After working on this painting collage art hybrid creature (on & off) for a long time, I finally finished it this past weekend, named it Tentacular Splatter, and added it to my Blood Pudding Press shop. This is a scan of (part of) it and in the next few days, I MIGHT use images of some of my scans and/or photos to create small glossy photo images of the painting/collage that I MIGHT also make available in the shop, but I'm not sure yet.The actual one-of-a-kind canvas painting collage is linked to below and I'll post some photos of the image soon.

A wonderful NEW review of my poetry chapbook, "SOFT FOAM"!

Another wonderful review by Casey Kiser, of another poetry chapbook of mine, "Soft Foam"!

"Currently, my absolute favorite Juliet Cook collection. Though, I have a lot to go.
I got half-way through and had to call my drug dealer.
I put her poetry in the genre of gateway drug ;)
This is some fine-tuned chaotic brilliance. An insomniac's delight.
She is quite a master of words. Every poem in this one left me drooling.
Absolute favorites: ALL OF THEM, 'Squiggles in Wonderland'.
Maybe, once I collect all Juliet's books, I will just giveaway my tv.

'This drunk compliments my legs.
I compliment my own legs in my head
in an other's voice. All it takes
to induce another fantasy.'

-From 'Sink or Float (drunk fantasy)"

Two NEW mini-reviews of my mini poetry chapbook, "POST-STROKE"!

"10 stars out of  5.

Absolutely one of the most unique and special books I've ever had in my hands."

"A wonderful collection of short poems, as I read each one I felt it was describing those Rorschach images. Some really incredible imagery. Favourite was "Crepuscular Creep" very creepy and also crepuscular is a word that isn't used enough these days."

Another wonderful new little review of my mini poetry chapbook, "POST-STROKE" (thank you to Jason)

"Deadly Doll Dead Dissection" inside my Malformed Confetti and me wearing a doll head

"Deadly doll head dissection. A dolly crematorium, an almost life less
doll. A doll scatterbrained, a doll agitating until it barfs up more awful
doll head gobbledygook. A spitting and hacking doll. Spinning, falling
and flailing inside the doll vomitorium. A dark doll somnambulating and
throwing up"

from the introductory poem creature,"Deadly Doll Head Dissection", which starts off my new poetry book, "Malformed Confetti", published by Crisis Chronicles Press, October 2018.
